Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • I have to say in reading the negative comments I have really only found one I can relate to. In terms of the idea they took my idea along with design and came up with a ideation design that had no parts and nothing close to my idea. They said it was designed like it was because they try to keep cost to make as low as possible. They never gave me numbers on what my design would cost to make. Most people think the ideas they have is going to take over a certain market and make millions. Reality and truth is yes 1% , of ideas that are submitted recieve something back. Keep in mind this is a long grueling adventure that does not become an overnight success along with the thousands of people that think they have something.

I was upset at first when they sent the ideation design out to me it was ridiculous. I did not accept any part of their design. There was no backlash from them when I did not accept any part and sent back denied.

They are now in the process of making my design the way I want it.

In the contract they clearly say they do not guarentee success (any company that does is a company to stay away from). Remember you entered an agreement for the prototype with the possibility of some success not the other way around.

This is not an easy process and as long as my prototype gets made for the cost which is in the contract it's up to me to do the rest if Davison doesnt have any bites on my idea its not as any fault to them.

The only reason I am currently giving them a 3 is because they totally changed my design and I was never contacted by any engineer through the first design. Remember people you entered and agreement for your prototype. (PERIOD) NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Im now waiting on my exact design and feel that this will be the ultimate test.

I will give another review when my prototype is built.
  • We were scammed out of $14,000 from the beginning of this nightmare...they have given us nothing back. They tried once to give us a completely bogus idea that didn't even come close to what we wanted to have developed. They are liars, crooked, & tried to get more from us. We were not able to take them to court & I am still paying for this. Is there something I can do to get my money back?????
  • Davison took my $22,000. & Left me in the dark after Alvin Perkins Product Manager, said he'd call me back.

This guy doesn't call back when he says he will. Also doesn't have all the facts of your product as he once said.

Davison is a bunch of dirty dog scammers. Alvin Perkins is a liar. Davison didn't make nothing except $$ off me.
  • Tell me something, why is your domain @davisoninvents.com and someone whos been in contact with me from Davison's domain @davison.com???
  • Hello I just gave them my idea, now they are waiting for me to pay 700 dollars to move on but after reading these reviews I'm kinda scared. If I change my mind could they steal my idea? Could some one email me some info [email protected]
    • I think by reading the poor reviews on Davison and or negative comments some don't have patience. I am currently working with Davison and paid them for a prototype of my idea. If you expect anything different than maybe the right questions weren't asked. The contract is for the prototype and like any company if something comes out of it they want a percentage. They clearly list no guarantees of product. This is not something that will happen overnight.
    • I lost almost $7K because I didn't do my homework. It doesn't take much digging to find it is nothing but a scam! I reported them to the FTC who told me not to give them any more money!
  • It was a very bad experience making business with this company DAVISON, they are so cruel, playing with people dreams and stealing our hard working money, my wish to this company is to be vanished .
  • Some of you people fail to understand how the invention process works. So far I since I started with them since 03/2017 til now I paid $800 up front in 06/2017 to start pre development and got my design started plus in 08/2017 I paid $10,000 to start main design and development which the process takes awhile like any new invention could take months to a few years for one invention depends on what your are inventing and how long it takes. flat screen tv's and tablets with smart phones took anywhere from 1 to 3 years for one of those 3 items I mentioned to come up with. It's frustrating but what you put into it will serve it's purpose and money used wisely if you know what you are doing. I've been in contact with the Director of Davison Corporation and design and the Electronics department and all this time they were straight forward with me and sent me exact details of my design and what it looks like and I never had any other issues with them. I'm into the last steps of my design and will be finished in 3 to 4 weeks from now with guarantees of fully disclosed documents to prove my invention is the real deal. Because I already have them. If you know where to go to start your invention first investigate the website before moving forward to start it make sure it's legit so nothing bad happens as far as finances go. Davison Corporation gave me proof before I started with them since last March and they disclosed all information about who and what they are and I'm a sceptical individual and I asked them detailed questions and I was on the phone with them over an hour and I was convinced and I started my invention with them and the results are very promising and proof that I'll do well when it's finished. Ask them detailed questions and ask the right questions in a professional manner to disclose business like. You can determine to yourself what you think about them. Remember. You must have patience like all inventions do take time so your invention becomes reality and works plus functions correctly so it put out for a sale so you can be acquired with payment from a corporation that pays for your invention. Time and patience serves it's purpose. So far it's never let me down
    • I have approached various Design Firms and received quotes as high as $400,000 for a prototype and at least 1 year to make it. No help presenting it nor help with licensing. The 400K is just for a prototype. So spending $15,000 is pennies comapared to that. Maybe they are slow due to lower costs. Maybe they have argreements with certain companies for finder’s fees if they bring something that like and that’s how they make their money. If this is true, that explains why they take a chance with all ideas because you never know.
    • With all due respect, it seems to me that you're in the process, whereas most of these people are through the process. My hope is that you are the 1% who has a success story, but it sounds like you're having the wool pulled over your eyes. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite you later.
    • Hello, How is your project coming? Im half way through and is been very positive so far, Im glad to hear a good review from someone working with them and being patient about it, im very excited but all of this bad reviews had me scared to be honest
    • I've given Davison my idea and THEY are WAITING for me to MAKE my first payment of 685.00. I have not sent my blue print of my invention just yet. Seems like I should wait before I make a move thanks for information. ATLANTA GEORGIA
  • Wow! I'm glad I checked this out. They too want me to front somewhere between 6 to 7 hundred dollars. I figured I better independently research this before any money is exchanged. I'm glad I did! They just called again and I'm not answering.
    • Don’t give them any money to do research. They charged me $595.00 to do “Research”, all they did was go online and printed out similar products that look like yours, which I’ve could have done that for free myself, but, they don’t tell you this kind of stuff.
  • Have been working with me so far really good. Will see how the rest goes
  • I submitted my ideas a few days ago. I want this noted because my product is not patented as of yet.
    • Great minds think alike.. I too had this same idea to notatr and publicly make aware of the.fact.that I have discussed my idea and and it's secrets in detail with Mr David gray regarding a particular cure for something after he verbally adjrred me he was under legal requirements to keep our discussions and the info that is sensitive.or pertaining g to my y idea strictly confidential. I'm required to pay approx 800 for for their assistance as well. June 2018...a.ruley..still decisionaking and.rrsearching before proceeding
