Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • Im also a victim of this so called company. If there is a class action lawsuit I definitely want in. My heart is broken about this and they need to pay. My money dont grow on tree's.
  • I am supposed to have a phone meeting with Davidson next week and make a payment of 600.00...Thanks to this site that is not going to happen! but I am going to have some fun with them...ALOT OF FUN!
    • Thats funny you say $600 because they told me $795 to cover them looking into my idea to make sure its not already out there.

Then to make a prototype of a very simple piece of plastic, they said they would want $8,000-$15,000 then they would present it to a company to see if they wanted it.

I see you posted your remark on January 8th, it has only been 21 days any their quoted price went up basically $200!
  • My heart goes out to each and everyone that has been taken advantage of by Davison. I pray to god that each and everyone of you get your money back in full and then sum. Trust in god, he will make a way. I'm so thankful for all your posts, because if it had not been for your posts and me researching the company my friend would have made the same mistake. Again I say my heart goes out to each and everyone of you. But in order to move on you have to put god at the head of your life, accept your lose, and move forward by fighting back. May grace of god be with each and everyone of you.
  • very good help. This company Davison does business as most chain letter scams. No method is as good as it bait. people want too hope for honest people in the world of business. But instead we see people who feed off other need to be wealthy and successful. Ideas is a human weakness we all have ideas. Everything cost money. My thought is create a company were inventors help other inventors work on getting their invention too market with a fee. Monies spend is only for trademark and patent filing, and copyrights filing? Lastly their is a bait born every 10 second someplace in the world right! Only Questions that needs to be ask is who is right for the job. Someone needs make a different. Don't blame the wolf but instead who can be trusted with creation.
  • All I see is negative about this company but no one posts any good company out there that is honest and trys.So is there any? Has any of you been successful or happy with another company? Post it so all these people who have gotten screwed can try again.
    • I got picked up by" As Seen On TV" my product had successful testing and was put up on their crowd funding site to be launched. Next step for my product is mass distribution. I only had to pay $299 for testing, intellectual property and researching manufacturing cost, this is if your product is selected. They only select products if it has potential and mass appeal. They will contact you to say yea or nay and when they give you the two thumbs up, they pay for everything marketing, advertising , distribution and manufacturing.
  • I got called by "mr. Davison" himself and even "vp petrulli".. They start of w/a no name rep. Then say she is out for unknown reasons and the new rep will tell you things completely opposite of what the first one says.. Like you pay 600$ to get the ball rolling then you have yrs to pay the full amount (an outrageous amt, which isn't fully disclosed at first). Then a vp will call and talk u up and say that you have 30 days to pay $1000.00 or you're terminated. Then if you play hard ball they'll say "well, $100 can get the ball rolling, can you do $100?"

I'm down w/a class action lawsuit! I have voicemails and emails.

    • I just found out I got taken for a fool and supposedly only had $375 left to payoff. I am up for a class action lawsuit and I have emails to back up my claims.
    • Go To Facebook and look up Davison Design Complaints. Leave your contact information so we can get this Class Action Lawsuit moving along...by the way, I lost close to $7,000 with Davison. My story is pretty much the exact same as all the rest you will read....
    • This company is seriously outrageous! They got $795 out of me, but they did mot get the $13,500 to packaged my product! The Davison representative actually called me back and said George Davison the owner will give me a discount for $6000,I laughed! I mean, these people sounded very desperate! They guy had the nerve to tell me to go and get a loan!
  • This company is a big fat FRAUD... Trust me do not give them a penny of your money. They took me for over 10 grand. Stay away!
  • Talk about a scam shop. I hope people look on the all the fraud reports on the web before falling for their pitch. My 84 year old parents were going to write this sleazy salesman a check to promote a tool my grandfather made in the 40s. He almost got them too. I hadn't heard of Davison before so I got the salesman's name from them and called. This guy belongs in a used car lot. I wanted to clean the phone after. Even though he had contacted my parents several times, he couldn't describe any details but wanted to "Bring my fathers dream to life." Red lights went off and I squashed the thing.

I emailed the company asking them not to contact us anymore. A week or so went by so I figured they were smart enough to leave it alone. Wrong! Same guy called again the other day making accusations. You just can't get rid of them.

I know organizations like this prey on the elderly but it just isn't right.

There are many places that can help you market your idea without spending a fortune. All Davison does is charge you a bundle to shotgun your idea in the form of spam. Don't trust them and don't deal with them.
    • This company should feel very guilty about taking advantage of the public. Their offices are in Pittsburgh and they have this building set they call Inventionland that looks like a movie stage. It looks like something from Disneyland. As you go through this set you find that there is no associates working in any of the titled areas. All of this is a stage to persuade you to give up your hard earned money. The president of the company has his office in the tree house, which is part of the stage. As you walk in the adjacent building there is a stack of products they have represented over the years. The funny part is all the display boxes of inventions are dusty and packages bleached by the sun light. It looks as if only one of each product was made and you are looking at it. The first thing you should pick up on during initial discussions is all their associates are pressure salesmen. You will find most of them carry a vice president title to add to their sales pitch. My advice is do not, I repeat do not - get involved with this company. Once they have your money and your invention is not successful you will never hear from them again. It becomes a dead end partnership.
  • davision is scam and i didnt know but i didnt invest any money.thank you all of you and we should file lawsuit..i have voice mails and emails...
