Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • Thanks everyone. Alvin Perkins from Davison called me today about my idea. I felt like my prayers had been answered. I see now that you, guys, are the answer. I would have signed the papers and sent "some" of the money-even though I really needed it to pay my bills. I do not have any extra money. Now, I will not answer the phone call tomorrow or I will tell this guy from Davison that I do not wish to pursue the idea with this company. I really appreciate your honesty. Thanks for stopping me from making a huge mistake with Davison. I am already broke, but I thought this company could really get my idea out there on the market so I could pay my bills. I really appreciate this information. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
    • good for you, as a FORMER EMPLOYEE, wondering if you were my rep., for the initial 795.. Then I got a call from RON who put a BIG title after his name and informed me you were no longer with the company (didn't) say why, but told me he was the one who got you your job. sound like anybody familiar, I could have his name wrong, but that was the beginning of the end, when he started demanding my S.Security checks to get the ball rolling. SHAME SHAME SHAME. how do these people sleep at night????u

GOD BLESSED you guys that got to see these comments before you went any further. I believe when I got the BBB reports on DAVISON 275 of 275 that filed reports, their was NOT one that was positive
    • I too am so greatful that I read all these befor sending thousands more... I will not answer the phone or call back.. If we can all join together to get them to stop doing this, and get some of our money back, I'm in...
  • Danm I just told them my idea too! I was so excited they were interested in it but now after reading this Idk what to do I haven't gave them money yet but I was going to. Now I'm sad! :(
    • Run! These people are conmen and bullies.

Took my money with nothing to show for it.

But read their disclosure and the fine print, They make only 1% from actual successful ideas.

All the rest of the income is suckering people in to pay them to make prototypes.

There prototypes and packaging is equaling to something a first grader would make.
  • I had an idea i submitted with Davison. They contacted me through email and called me. It was a woman who gave me a time to have a phone meeting with her. When that phone meeting came she ask me about my idea and i told her it and she kept making sure my idea was cofidential. So after all that she then says she needs 750$ for a research fee, i then said i dont feel comfortable paying that right now and then there was a pause on the line for about 30 seconds and she came back and acted as if we lost service for a second. I immediately became suspicious. I dont think im answering anymore of their phone calls.
  • Hello everyone...

I am struggling to hold back tears for all of you. I to, tried to get a product prototype done years ago (early 90's) by someone other than "Davison" and had the same results as you guys have had with Davison. But! I only lost a meager $300 back then!! Compared to what you guys have lost...it's small potatoes!

I was considering working with Davison but was apprehensive without further investigation because of the past experience I had just mentioned above. GOD bless you all for posting your experiences! You are preventing more casualties of this entities dishonesty by doing so! Thank you, thank you and thank you!!!

Note to "Davison"...NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES, IF YOU CONTINUE TO RIP FOLK OFF AND NOT MAKE RESTITUTION TO THOSE OF WHOM YOU HAVE RIPPED OFF, YOUR FALL WILL BE GREAT INDEED!!!! You reap what you sow and you can take that to the bank!!!!

    • Wow! I gave Davison 1700. I want my money back. I feel so bad about what they done to me and so many others. The debt people are in because of these money hungry theives. Shame on you all. Im in. How can I help. Please anyone contact me at gaycampbell357yahoo.com.
  • This is very disheartening to read. I have put roughly $1000 into my idea. After a year and many calls discussing my project, I was pretty convinced (to only minutes ago) to toss them the $10,000 more to make my project and start getting income from it. I know $1000 deep doesn't sound like much as compared to other stories, but I sure want it back. The rep dealing with my project is Hasan Walker. Has anyone had experience with him?
    • Todd and Gay, I had the same problem.

Sherri, get out b4 they are really deep in your pocket, Davison is flat-out LYING to you, I understand your belief in your product, passion and dream, but if you GO-ON it'll become your NIGHTMARE, check out the BBB, consumer affairs, and DAVISON INVENTION REVIEWS - LEGIT OR SCAMS!
    • Hi Violet im working on a project with them too can you email me please [email protected]
    • Violet, the computers at Davison are set up so you can't return emails. And ur there are over 150 directors of new products and all of them use the same 'scripts, which they read on the various phone calls. Don't invest a dime!!
    • I'm working with Hasan right now... I'm freaking out as I'm reading all of this. I've been feeling weird about this whole thing but already paid the "discounted" $715. Hasan is nice, but not the most professional guy... I feel like he is just reading a sales pitch off of a card when i talk to him and he never responds to my e-mails.

    • Hi,

I am still dealing with Davison. I paid $6,000, and after 5 weeks they send me a product that it completely different to my idea and that particular product already exists. I told them that I don't want that product and they told me that they will not be refunding my money. MY advise to you, DO NOT pay them another penny!!! they are fraudsters and make you think you have a brilliant idea just to get money out of you. I have records of all conversation between me and them (as they did not want to communicate via email) and am about to sue them. If you want more information contact me on [email protected]
  • Hi i have been speaking to someone by the name of Ted Morse Jnr. I live in South Africa and thought that this might be legit. I am really disappointed. Seeing so many people with negative stories about this company breaks my heart. I really believe that I have a really good idea and that this could really work for me. Is this company really phony? They requested me to pay $715 which is a lot of money if you convert it back into Rands. Can someone please assist me here.
    • Don't trust Ted Morse, They personally scammed me they should be up for an Academy award!
    • The company's is real but so is the fact they are professional scammers. If you don't believe me insist they tell you hard numbers of how many people make more money than they invest, compared to how many people sign contracts with them??
    • Hi Bianca.

I am really glad I did some research before submitting my idea.

Have you found any legit company?

I am also from South Africa and are not aware of any company that offer that type of service over here.

I have seen another one http://www.inventionhome.com/. has anyone dealt with them?

My [email protected] if anybody has any good leads

      Thanks

  • I had an idea that I thought that was unique. I contacted Davison. I spoke with one of them and they told me that my idea had potential. They provided me with lots of forms that included all kinds of legal documents that needed to be signed, plus telling me that I had to send them (upfront) $975.00 .That's when I became very uncomfortable.

I spoke with the person I was dealing with by telephone . This was when the s--t hit the fan! I asked him why I had to give Davison $975.00 up front. He came up with some flimsy answer that I didn't buy. One thing led to another (with him yelling at me) and that was when I hung up on the SOB.

How do these people live with themselves is beyond me.

I'm not hurting for money but what about the poor person that will do just about anything to have his invention brought to market. SHAME ON THEM.
    • Jerome that's why I didn't work there very long, bc once I realized what was going on I couldn't live w myself destroying people's lives and crushing dreams. And employees are trained to yell and be forceful on the phone, it's the Davison way...
    • Add me to the list, I am in to them for over $16,000. and they Barbara Browing told me on Friday thatshe was sorry that the company, although they liked my name and design, was going to pass on my product!!

I NEVER received a proto-type of my product, just a 3 d design, which they say, is their their "proto-type" ... this is what they present to the manufacturer>> no wonder we are denied??

Count me in for a class action suit.. although I have already contacted my own attorney!!

    • Hey there,

I want to do a story on Davison in canada for the CBC. can you get in touch? 204-788-3210 or [email protected]
  • I would love to talk to anyone who is willing to tell me more about their story. I am just about to start the product development phase when Davison wants more of my money. HELP!!! I really believe in my idea. What other options are out there to get it on the ground?

I am so broke and I need something to believe in!

Thank you to everyone for be couragous enough to share your story!
    • I just got off the phone with a director of new products named Jackie. I too have paid the $715, to get 'things going'. They are now asking for $1,100 or more for development of my idea. That amount was never even discussed, ever. I've looked through the prior documentation sent to me, and nothing is there. I'm really dissappointed. My husband has been unemployed for three months, and money is very tight. I can't afford it. I will have to walk away having lost money I borrowed from my in laws. Anyone know of another lawsuit pending? I'd get in on that.
    • Hey A.P

I am so broke too...lol.. But the whole upfront payment thing made me so uncomfortable that I wouln't have paid a dime even if I had the money

Please let me know if (when) you find us a company that could take our dreams further without shattering our hope

      Kind regards

      Stephanie Swarts (South Africa)
    • Do not i repete do not give this company a penny more. At the beggining they tell you everything is a (yes) to get your money and after you pay them boy do they change and at the end the only thing that they will do is nothing but a printed picture that has nothing to do with the original idea that you begin with. Everything you read here is 100% true. At this point i recommend any one else but this crooks they got me for at least 15000 dollars. Its been 5 years that i been dealing with them and so far all i have is a printed picture that has or looks nothing like the origial agreement.
  • hey i almost got scammed or whatever by davisons too. I think we all should start going to their website and start summiting our bad reveiws and comments in the spot you summit your invention ideas to them at, under fake or real names. lol we should use their phone numbers instead or your own too. please do it everyone cus Im really mad at how high these guys got my hopes up to turn out to be a scamming let down. I think if we all did it they would have to shut down. at least it would hurt them and be sometype of revenge for them taking peoples money. I almost go fired because they said if I missed a call they wouldnt they to call me or work with me again so I walked out of work to take there call and got introble by my boss. My whole family thought less of me too for almost getting scammed.

  • Too good to be true! You betcha'! I am too far along in my trek to sell my idea to let the have a dime to just contact companies...which I read here that they do not do anyway. There are some firms who offer good help- this is not one that I can tell.
