Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • The Davidson representative provides motivational conversations until they get all the fees for supposedly developing your idea and getting it to Leviton top manufacture. Then the representative you were initially working with turns you over to someone you can't even pronounce their name to eventually tell you that the manufacturer does not want to procees with taking the product to market. It should be something done with this company taking poor people of their lifely earnings to eventually slam the door in their face after months of making one believe your idea is a good one and will soon be on the market.

This is a hokes of a business for certain. What I don't understand if the federal government had already fined them once why are they still in business take even more people down a false hope road?

Something needs to be done with this suppose to be business. If they took me for about $12,000 can you imagine how much they are receiving on an annual basis from poor people like me?

    Something needs to be done.

    Devastated widow!!!!
  • I began working with Davison exactly a year ago. I was referred to them by a friend who was working with them as well. She had nothing but nice things to say about the company. Of course she did, They are very nice....and great at persuading the consumer to do anything. Well...$17,000 dollars and one year later, I have a picture of a prototype of a product that has nothing to do with my original idea what so ever. I am doing alot of research and finding alot of shady information about this company. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY! THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT
  • Thank you all, im glad i read this before dealing with them.
  • my e mail is [email protected], I lost so much money with this company Iam in Arizona thank you.
  • i have had my experiences with Davison but they did not get any money out of me. i had the good sense thank God to check them out. i have a friend that's a lawyer and i asked him to read the contract they sent me wanting 795 up front so they could find a company that would put my invention on the market. well that led me to here. thank you so very much for all your information i am very grateful i did not give any money yet. i am disabled and on social security disability i was going to borrow the money from a family member. i'll even bet someone has already thought of my invention maybe has a patent on it i'm so grateful.
    • Hi Peggy.

I have submitted an idea and paid $680.00 to have Davison to now tell me they have a company to manufacture my product. They now say I will have to come up with more money shortly to continue, I am I am starting to have seconds thoughts on this, any other things you can let me know about? Who have you dealt with there?

      Thanks,

      Marc.
  • I just summited an idea and as soon as i was asked to put a huge amount of money i did not have and got suspicious..any moneys up front sounds like a scam no matter where it is...and i do not believe there are any reputable companys out there...you have to figure out a way to market your product yourself...buy books about it at your local book store and learn...there is a way to do it yourself!!!!! and for those who want to do that class action suit..please do it and dont give up!!! THEFT BY DECEPTION!!!!!!! GO FOR IT!!!!!
    • Its me again..i couldnt help reading all the people who signed contracts with these scam artists..you know when you sign one of those its to protect both parties not just the ones who built the contract...to make a long story short, if the so called company didnt do what they said they were going to do..and its apparent that all they wanted was more and more money but still didnt do any of what they said they were going to do in the so called contract..in order for that contract to be valid..those poor people who gave them thousands of dollars would of by now im sure have their ivnention on the market by now..and if its not and you should know by now that it will NEVER get marketed...the contract in null and void!!!! i've been reading a lot of law books for FREE...LOL..and i also know by reading FREE books from the neighborhood libray that myself and all of you can do this marketing thing all by yourself...patent and all!!
