Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • These maggots are feeding unchecked and getting away with it.
  • Let's just say... I submitted my idea online and missed their call the next day. They then sent me an email saying that my product was ready... HUH? I was like "Wow they work fast"

When I finally spoke with they said I could present something to them or for a fee they could build it for me (1st red flag bc I thought my product was ready). Let's just say im expecting a call from them in 5.4 seconds and seeing these post "thank God" I will NOT lose my money to them. They have my idea and I'm sure it'll be on the market tomorrow hahaha but not in my name.... I'll take that lost.

Thanx for all the post everyone!

    Xoxo
    • I was considering to take this company up on there offer and send them my idea.

But seeing these bad post got me thinking other wise.
    • Oh before I forget, the "fee" for designing my product was in addition to the initial fee...

I work too have to lose out on my money!
  • Having already dealt with this company, I was not surprised to read of so many complaints, I have just written to the New products manager at Davison and told him a thing or two. He is also a smooth operator and I will be very surprised if he takes anything that I said seriously.

I have since found a company called Lambert and Lambert who handle invention/ ideas and they have an evaluation fee of $199.00 and they will evaluate your idea, which will take about 3-5 weeks and they will give you a detailed evaluation of just how good or bad your idea is.

If Lambert decide to license your idea, they will do all the development costs and packaging of the product and present it to a company at their own expense. In return they will ask for a 35% take of any royalties that you receive.

This certainly is remotely different to Davison, who by all accounts are scaming people out of their hard earned money.
    • Hello! My name is Ramiro and I too believe I am being scammed by Davison with an investment of approximately 12,000 dollars. Can you please inform me or give me the details of this company. Davison has sucked all of my savings away from me and I am interested in the information on this new company you are referencing about. Thank you so much.

      Sincerely, Ramiro
    • Hello there I would like to know if Lambert and Lambert a good company.

      [email protected]

      Thank You
    • So is Lambert reallly the way to go? Are they really trustworthy?
  • Ughh..... glad i found this today, I was going to send them the $800.00 today. I have been speaking with Steven Tammereau (director of new products) for Davison, he said my idea would be very marketable and the money I was going to give them was very hard earned and almost a months worth of my income. Thanks everyone for posting your stories, I hope no one else falls for this scam.... now just to figure out how to get my idea out there before they steal it.
  • Dear Harvey,

Hopefully you're doing well. Last time you spoke with our firm we explained the initial stages of getting the uvizz Eyewear in front of a company that sells products to stores. All indications are that you're passionate about your idea, so we wanted to get in touch with you today.

This morning we received notification from our Administrative Department that there are a few days left on a savings offer Daniel Karetski extended to you on your idea. The opportunity to take advantage of the 10% savings towards the pre-development service is set to expire soon. If you don't take advantage of the savings offer now, you will have to pay the full pre-development amount up front to start your project at a later date.

I know Daniel Karetski will be in the office until 5:00pm EST and will be happy to speak with you about it. You can reach Daniel at 1.866.328.4766 or (+1.412.967.0124) extension 50028.

Harvey, we're looking forward to continuing the process of getting the uvizz Eyewear in front of a company to see if they're interested in selling it to stores.

Sincerely, Jan Jones Executive Assistant to the President

this is the email they sent me!!!

    smh!!!
    • I also received the identical email. I did one further guys. They sent me a letter with the name of a "target" company and had another 1500 to target if that one fell thru. So i decided to call this target company and they told me not only where they never approached from Davison but that they never even heard of them.
    • That looks exactly like an email I got from them only not Daniel....
    • That bastard started yelling and screaming @ me cause i told him i wasn't sending nada till i saw a contract...
  • I also got "taken" ...even after several conversations, paid the 600.00, got the notebook..then was asked for 6000.00..........thank god i never came up with it..at the time was down right in a destitute state...even after stating i was a single mother, struggling...you'd think the right thing to say after hearing my story should of been...maam...save your hard earned money...because in a couple of month, the only thing you would of gotten from it was a 600.00 notebook of b.s.........nooooooooooooooo...........they took my money and nothing ever came of it
  • I submitted my idea to Davison and was told there was nothing out there like that and ask me to give it a name, and what the pros and cons of my product and i did several weeks later after signing the contracts i was told that the product was to complex for the business and they had no company connections to sell the idea to.Well my idea is now on the market same name i gave it and the same pros of why the common house hold would benefit form it but im getting nothing what the hell happen and what can i so about it. I was told by one of the top people at Davison that the contract protected them form me tell any one for two years of my idea. Just be careful i have lost out on million
    • Diane, I'd like to help you and others who have been harmed - if you can email me on [email protected], we can set up a time to discuss your issues.
    • Diane, are you taking any legal action against Davison ? I had the very same experience and finding the best way to pursue this would be a class action lawsuit.
    • Diane, do you still have any of the e-mails from them? What I mean is proof of any interreacting conversations with them? The mention of your idea with them, and your idea allready on the market would be solid grounds for a law suit with a good attorney. Of course one that would work for you on a contengency fee. Espesially with Davison's background. You should check it out!
    • I appreciate all the comments of everyone helping to keep my hard earned money from a scam. Who did you finally go to to market your idea/product? Would love to know who can be trusted.

      Thanks, K
  • In review, I found this company to be "smoke and mirrors". I dealt with someone "high up" and he, in a very showy way never answered his phone but instead had a voice mail with a female secretary. I found the whole thing to be a "display" (I co-run a business and one of our ways to seem more official was to have one of my partners girlfriends acting as "secretary" on the voice mail. The high up person would always call back instantly if it was advantageous to him which suggested that he didnt need the message to be relayed to him from a secretary. Furthermore, being in the business that I am in, im use to slick an quick talkers.

The guy I dealt with with an extreme slickster. He used all the techniques that I know when trying to sell someone a dream. He even through in a sly remark by saying I need the "fortitude" to pursue my idea. I guess he was trying to use some sort of reverse psychology, goading me as one might do a 10 year old. He also excessively would call me by my first name which is another psychological technique used to establish familiarity and friendship. He gave himself away with that one. I spent the initial 800.00 as it was something I could afford. I was also tipped off by the guy being so blown away with my idea which self admittedly wasn't even that good.

Here's the deal folks, they get thousands of people a year to spend that initial $795 and thats how they operate. You can tell him the most nonsensical idea imaginable and they will say "O wow this could work, thats an awesome idea"...I don't look to sue and such, im just a spiritual person and a person in the health industry and let me say, when you conduct yourself and have to be pretentious day in and day out as they do, it brings on chronic illness and suffering.
  • i found davison on the internet and before i researched them i called them and told them my idea.now they have been sending me emails of success stories and insisting that i have to watch them to show them how much i am dedicated to making my idea happen.plus they want $800.00,and if i don't have the money then they can't help me.i'm waiting on this last call today.he also told me if i need them to design it there was a fee to use their team, plus it would cost me thousands of dollars, but we could split that up into sections,as soon as 1 part of my idea is done then we would start the next 1.he also said that it may take years to finish the prototype.thats not counting the time it takes to sell the product to the companies.so now i'm not going to go with them and i hope and pray they don't take my idea.has anyone found a trustworthy idea company?
  • I have been dealing with them for 2 years now and I'm 13.000 dollars in the hole . After all said and done my design very basic and i payed way too much. Im at the final stages of having my product licensed with them now and i do not get and responses from them . I've sent weekly emails for two months now and still no reply. . Im pretty sure i've been SCAMMED ! SO BEWARE
    • Will, are you taking any legal action against Davison ? I had the very same experience and finding the best way to pursue this would be a class action law suit would be interested
