GoPaidWeekly, found online at GoPaidWeekly.com, is a work at home opportunity that claims you can make up to $1200 a day doing simple, basic tasks that only take 5 to 10 minutes at a time.
Their website describes themselves as “an innovating new job site,” where you can create a member account and instantly begin completing the work listed on your Dashboard for an “estimated award” that will be paid to you in one of a few preferred methods.
It is free to create an account with GoPaidWeekly and they claim that you are guaranteed to earn a minimum of $1500 in the very first week you begin completing your tasks with their company.
The Problems
Crowdsourcing is a type of work from home opportunity where companies break larger projects into small, easily completed tasks that can be quickly done by people but are too complicated for computers to do easily, such as write captions for pictures.
GoPaidWeekly is a not a legit crowdsourcing opportunity. Instead of partnering with real companies to provide you with a variety of tasks to complete, they simply want their members to spend all their time promoting their website by posting referral links on free forums and social networking sites on the internet.
In addition, much of the information on their website is conflicting. In one area of the website it says money will be deposited instantly after a task has been completed, in another it says that task will have to be approved and reviewed before money will be deposited. In one area it says money is only payable by check, in another they mention multiple methods of payment.
Finally there are no Terms & Conditions which detail the “guarantee” of earning $1500 your first week, and the minimum you must earn before being able to withdraw your money is $300, which is outrageously high. A payout this high can only be intended to get you to work essentially for free, as it will take far too long for members to reach this payout level.
Legit Opportunities
Crowdsourcing has become more popular over the last few years with major companies getting involved and hosting crowdsourcing opportunities, like Amazon Mechanical Turk, CloudCrowd, and Lionbridge Technologies.
You should always remember, however, that because these tasks are so quick and easy to complete that they don’t pay much – these opportunities are best suited for simply earning some supplemental income.
