LowerMyBills.com Reviews – Legit or Scam?

Lower My BillsLowerMyBills.com is a website that claims to provide you with quotes from competing companies to ensure that you can get the lowest possible monthly payments on everything from mortgage to car insurance.

In order to provide you with these quotes, Lower My Bills must acquire from you a vast amount of personal information.  Your address, phone number, email address, social security number, credit score – the list goes on and on.

After you have provided them with this information, Lower My Bills promises to provide you with the best possible quote.  Yet, after submitting all your information, instead of receiving a quote from Lower My Bills, you are told you will be contacted within 24 hours with a quote.

How Does LowerMyBills Work?

LowerMyBills.com essentially collects your information and then sells it to everyone they can.  Their Privacy Policy states plainly that your information will be given to all companies or partners that can provide you information that you requested – say, information on lowering your car insurance – and every company they partner with who can give you information on products or services you may be interested in.  This last line basically gives them the ability to disseminate your information to anyone they wish.

Many customers complain that they were led to believe through the company advertisements that they would be provided with information and quotes online.  However, after their information was submitted, they received no information online, rather they began receiving multiple phone calls a day from various salespeople who had their information and were hoping to sell them a service.

What You Should Know About LowerMyBills

First, Lower My Bills attempts to attain a large amount of personal and financial information from you on their website.  Perhaps the biggest issue with Lower My Bills is that there is no such thing as “submitting” your information. As you go through the process of filling out your info, you are given vague messages urging you to answer further questions and fill out more and more information.

But what you don’t realize is that every time you move forward in the process, the information that you have filled out is collected and given to salespeople to use to contact you.  It doesn’t matter if you quit halfway through the process or one minute into the process – whatever info you filled out is considered submitted, and then taken and given out to salespeople.

Another issue with Lower My Bills is that because they are linked to mortgage institutions and therefore have the ability to collect large amounts of personal financial information over the internet, their Terms page states that they cannot and will not “delete” your information.  Because of the Federal Financial Privacy Law, they must store your financial information for a set period of time.

Therefore, if you contact them and ask them to “delete” your information, your request will go ignored, and you will continue receiving phone calls and emails from advertisers and salespeople.  Instead, request that they stop sharing or selling your information to their partners or other companies.

Finally, though LowerMyBills.com claims to be an Experian company, they are considered an entirely different branch of the corporation, so any phone calls to Experian requesting help or assistance in dealing with Lower My Bills will be ignored.  In order to deal with Lower My Bills directly, please send all requests in writing to:

  • I have been pleased with the quotes i received. They said i will receive a quote and that is what i got. i Just lowered my outgo by a few hundred dollars a month. thanks Quontic Bank Reverse
  • it bad. no get. i was going to get. but i did not. i happy i read onnline.
  • I am giving a 2 only because my contact person was friendly. Close to the end of questions i commented as a previous rater pointed out that i had already answered all these same questions on line. Ultimately there was no great savings, i mentioned the Obama angle and was given a "oh yes we can check that also" but i thought that was primary reason for checking rates to start with. So as i was suspecting a scheme (scam?)i just said i think we're done here then got all the rude questioning. If it walks like a duck, if it talks like a duck, must be a duck!
  • They somehow post on my Facebook account now.
  • I was lured by the ad offering president Obama's plan to refinance my mortgage to a 15 year term. Obama's plan helped me years ago when I was late with my mortgage. So I fell in the trap.

First of all, our president has nothing to do with this scam named "Lower my bills"

Second, they will not provide any information about what your new payment will be if you adhere to their plan. There is no plan here.

Third, they just sold your personal sensitive information (SS# included) to evey loan company you can name around the web. And they will start calling you right away!, some of them being less than respectful (even mean) over the phone.

What was I thinking? I feel dumb for not have these scammers googled before giving them my information. There's not a single good review about this "company"

And they're using President Obama's name to lie on the consumer's face! I don't even think is legal...

If somebody is preparing a class action against them, I'm in.
  • This company has ads for reverse mortgages. Of course appealing to the elderly. They start out with "No registration needed" as they say above and by the time you have given out everything including your SSN it still goes on I quit there. You be the judge; what kind of company needs to lie to the older population?
  • Filled out the form online to get quotes for auto insurance. Within 2 minutes I submitted it, my phone rang and someone asked me if they can connect me with an agent. This so called agent asked me every single question that was the same information I just filled out on the online form. Then what is the point for me filling out the online form if and spend more time on the phone answering the same questions.

    Never again ...
  • PROMISE YOU THE MOON AND GIVE YOU DEATH VALLEY, JUST ANOTHER CLICK HERE AND CLICK HERE AND CLICK HERE AND WANT ALL YOU INFO JUST FOR SIMPLE QUOTE, YEAH REALLY SIMPLY, A DOZEN OR MORE CALLS AND YOUR FLOODED WITH B***SH** AND PROMISES. WOW SUCH A SCAM OF SCAMS

WOW WHAT HAPPEN TO HONEST BUSINESS??

MY RATING OF LOWERMYBILLS----SCALE OF 1 TO 10, ---1000 TO THE TENTH POWER

IF YOU SEE LOWERMYBILLS AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS LIKE THE EBOLA VIRUS
    • Uh Derp.....seems like you're the dip shit. ..and you're illiterate. ..his statement said negative -1000.....you really made yourself look stupid....even your name is stupid....DERP the JERKP. ...lol
    • LOL! Jerry, you're a dipshit, do you realize that? So rating them on a scale of 1-10 you rated them 1000 to the tenth power. That's a really big number, Jerry. Which means you love this company beyond reasonable measure. Thanks for the advice about Ebola btw. I'll do my best to avoid it. Haha!
  • Why would anyone trust a Company that lies to them In a ONE SENTENCE ad? Their ad on The Weather Channel app states "Obama raises the limit that homeowners can get with a reverse mortgage." If there has been any increase in that amount it is a bona fide CERTAINTY that Barack Obama didn't have one damn thing to do with it. Any company that would make such an asinine claim is just a plain everyday liar. I wouldn't trust them or any of their "partners" to give me the correct change for s pack of chewing gum.
  • 1st call from them - they are calling me during my work hours and when I asked what it was about the lady was so rude - "I am trying to tell you" - when I said I was at work she hung up. I have not filled out anything on line recently so not sure how they got my info and it was a LOCAL number to my area - my mother is in a care facility so I jumped on the call even though I did not recognize the number.

    Very disturbing
