Opinion Outpost is a get paid to take surveys company, serving adult residents of the United States and Canada. This company has been around now for many years and has gone through recent updates to its website and user interface.

The result is a more modern and sleek design and better overall experience for their members. Overall this company allows its members to earn rewards for participating on online surveys.

As with most survey offers this should not be looked at as a solid income stream but simply a way to participate in market research when you have some spare time on your hands.

How Does Opinion Outpost Work?

Once you signup you will have to confirm your email address and then fill out a short bio section for your profile. This will include your education background, address, birthday and occupation. The company uses this information to pair you with the best survey opportunities.

The surveys that you receive will range in topics but can cover everything from appliances to medicine and sports. The more studies you participate in the more you can earn. Most surveys take around ten minutes to complete.

The reason that most folks don’t receive as many survey opportunities as they’d like is because they haven’t fully filled out their profile or taken these intro surveys.

Each survey that gets emailed to you will have some quick preliminary questions to answer to see if you qualify for the survey. These surveys do have a limit on how many participants they need so for a higher chance of acceptance try to respond to the emails as soon as you get them.

The most important thing to remember with Opinion Outpost is to stay active. If you don’t attempt to qualify for a survey at least once every 3 months they will remove you as an active member and clear your account of any earned points.

Rewards:

For every successful survey that you complete you will earn points. These points can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards.

These include: Cash out via Paypal, Amazon gift cards, itunes gift cards, and more. You also earn entries into their $10,000 quarterly prize draw each time you take a survey.

Customer Service:

If you have any questions about surveys or your account you can reach a support representative at 1-877-254-1234 or submit an online inquiry.

Online Reviews/Complaints:

As with most survey companies complaints mainly fall into the category of people not getting enough surveys or not qualifying for surveys after taking the preliminary questions.

It’s important to have appropriate expectations for online surveys to ensure you will not be disappointed. Often times the companies sponsoring these research studies are looking for very specific participants and unfortunately many people won’t qualify after taking the preliminary questions.

There’s not much you can do about that except try again to find a study that you would fit into. People have reported being paid by Opinion Outpost so it’s just a matter of being patient and taking advantage of the surveys that you do qualify for.

Competitors and Alternatives:

Opinion Outpost is owned by a larger company that has several survey sites including SurveySpot. Feel free to check out our complete list of survey companies.

  • Pay attention to what others say about there credibility, and notice the consistency of fraud; it is evident that this site is a scam. When I first tried this site, like I do with just about every site, I give it a try if I see some positive comments online. And it just so happened that I was reading someone's top ten review page and for some reason they had "opinion outpost" in there top three - surprisingly. Moreover, I would also say that one can never truly know who writes the reviews for most things online. Many times, it could be the owners involved in the website that are doing the reviews online. For this reason, in order to accurately determine the validity of a website, one should examine the consistency of not only positive, but mostly, how many consistently negative reviews are there. So then, back to my experience: after trying it out for a month, I noticed that I was getting a decent amount of surveys from them; I had accumulated $16.00 approximately. Finally, when I had cashed my money in for amazon credit, it said that my account was frozen...My first thought was...that's very strange. Now, when I had this experience, I immediately looked online again to see their reputation for this kind of thing. And unfortunately, I discovered that they are well known for freezing accounts and never paying people. This was a recurring thing among reviews, a very prevalent problem indeed. Nevertheless, despite the evidence that it was a scamming website, I decided to personally contact them by phone and email. I left a message via phone and they never called me back. However, they did return my message through email, and they did sound professional as well. But still, sad to say, they eventually stopped communicating and have not responded to two of my emails in a month, and it has been two months since this has happened. My advice to anyone, stay away from this site, it is a true scammer, and it'll save you time and frustration.
  • It is a scam. I tried to claim rewards and got a message my account is frozen data reasons. I wrote to the email address given. That was 2 weeks ago with no answer. Don't waste your time with this crooked so called survey company,
  • used to be a great site a few years ago. Now it's terrible! You have to answer so many questions before you even get to the screener, and then 20 minutes into the survey they kick you out so they don't have to give you your incentive. Then when you contact them, they tell you sorry you didn't qualify. The incentives are terrible also. Total waste of time!
  • I did opinion outpost surveys for years. I even got paid way back when by check. I loved it. So i continued for more years even after they stopped checks. Then one day after I had bult up to close to 1000 dollars they told me they wouldnt pay because the address on file didnt match the address I gave then I gave every address I have lived at for the last ten years and guess whay none matched. I had gotten acheck from them years earlier at the address that I now reside. I wonder how that works. You can decide
  • I started on this site well over a yr ago everything was fine until I notice that you start not qualifying for a lot of surveys. I had my last cash out and hadn't been on this sites in months due to was in the hospital for a mini stroke. So I tried last week to login to my account , I get a notice saying account frozen due to data concern; but was never notified of this problem. I tried to contact help desk as instructed; but to my luck not one responds. I also noticed that there are other survey sites doing the same thing where you get through the surveys then don't qualtify for them just a waste of time. I have been searching other ways to make extra money on and off line by there are a lot of people who are doing the very same thing but its not right for these companies to freeze your account or to waste your time after so many pay outs. some of my accounts I have closed completely and given a bad review. Not worth it.....
  • this is a scam! they will wait until you cash out your earnings after you have spent hours being rejected survey after survey and
  • I joined them recently in had a chance to respond to quite a few surveys, BUT as soon as I accumulated enough points to request a bigger reward and I have actually requested the reward, they blocked my account stating that I violated their terms and conditions. It took them 2 weeks to try to figure out that I supposedly violated those rules and they refused to issue me the payments stating that my points have been zeroed out. I asked them to specifically indicate for I supposedly had violated, they never responded. I so was earning rewards, but when the matter came to payment, they just closed my account. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. NEVER TRUST THEM.
  • To cite the first reviewer here: Honestly, for the past few weeks, I have been redirected to many surveys only to be rejected after a few questions. It's really frustrating. Because of this, it's really hard to get points to redeem for cash. This is pretty much a waste of time."

You spend 30 minutes giving them your life history to "qualify". Then good luck taking a "survey". Each one takes another 4-5 minutes of wasted time only to find out you've been rejected.

Total BS. Thank goodness the spam email I get from them goes to junk-mail automatically.
  • Scam scam scam. They don't pay and they do not get back to you when you mail them.
  • WATCH OUT!!!I was a opinion outpost member for several years and made money off of it. Last Month I had my account frozen due to data concerns. They subsequently closed my account and took over 360$ from my account. Opinion outpost said I violated one of their terms or conditions but will not tell me which one. This site is apparently becoming a scam.
