Opinion Outpost is a get paid to take surveys company, serving adult residents of the United States and Canada. This company has been around now for many years and has gone through recent updates to its website and user interface.

The result is a more modern and sleek design and better overall experience for their members. Overall this company allows its members to earn rewards for participating on online surveys.

As with most survey offers this should not be looked at as a solid income stream but simply a way to participate in market research when you have some spare time on your hands.

How Does Opinion Outpost Work?

Once you signup you will have to confirm your email address and then fill out a short bio section for your profile. This will include your education background, address, birthday and occupation. The company uses this information to pair you with the best survey opportunities.

The surveys that you receive will range in topics but can cover everything from appliances to medicine and sports. The more studies you participate in the more you can earn. Most surveys take around ten minutes to complete.

The reason that most folks don’t receive as many survey opportunities as they’d like is because they haven’t fully filled out their profile or taken these intro surveys.

Each survey that gets emailed to you will have some quick preliminary questions to answer to see if you qualify for the survey. These surveys do have a limit on how many participants they need so for a higher chance of acceptance try to respond to the emails as soon as you get them.

The most important thing to remember with Opinion Outpost is to stay active. If you don’t attempt to qualify for a survey at least once every 3 months they will remove you as an active member and clear your account of any earned points.

Rewards:

For every successful survey that you complete you will earn points. These points can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards.

These include: Cash out via Paypal, Amazon gift cards, itunes gift cards, and more. You also earn entries into their $10,000 quarterly prize draw each time you take a survey.

Customer Service:

If you have any questions about surveys or your account you can reach a support representative at 1-877-254-1234 or submit an online inquiry.

Online Reviews/Complaints:

As with most survey companies complaints mainly fall into the category of people not getting enough surveys or not qualifying for surveys after taking the preliminary questions.

It’s important to have appropriate expectations for online surveys to ensure you will not be disappointed. Often times the companies sponsoring these research studies are looking for very specific participants and unfortunately many people won’t qualify after taking the preliminary questions.

There’s not much you can do about that except try again to find a study that you would fit into. People have reported being paid by Opinion Outpost so it’s just a matter of being patient and taking advantage of the surveys that you do qualify for.

Competitors and Alternatives:

Opinion Outpost is owned by a larger company that has several survey sites including SurveySpot. Feel free to check out our complete list of survey companies.

  • WATCH OUT!!!I was a opinion outpost member for several years and made money off of it. Last Month I had my account frozen due to data concerns. They subsequently closed my account and took over 360$ from my account. Opinion outpost said I violated one of their terms or conditions but will not tell me which one. This site is apparently becoming a scam.
  • It is frustrating the surverys keep repeating asking you the same questions it starts by it will take 8 mins goes thru the 8 mins or more then when your finish it will say thank you but you don't qualify for this survey but your entered for the 10,000 entry I don't have time to be on their website to be denied for half an hour surveys I do.No thank you I rather go on Crowdtap and do missions and polls
  • Ok, so I don't think I've ever written a review but this is so aggravating! I signed up for opinion outpost about two months ago, filled out countless surveys and gotten nothing! It's a scam. It tells me the survey will take 15 minutes and I start it and it lets me get through ten minutes of answering questions and then tells me I don't qualify! They are basically stealing time from people with the promise of a helpful outcome. It's a complete waste of time. But if you think about it it's genius. They are able to get their questions answered for free.
  • I started doing surveys, and after a few days my account was frozen for an unknown reason. The message said to email their customer support. I did so, and they have not responded. I left a message on Facebook, and again crickets. They owe me money. I enjoyed the surveys, but it was just a waste of my time.
  • I MAKE ON AVERAGE 75-150 A MONTH. I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. I DO SURVERYS EVERYDAY ON THE WEBSITE NOT JUST RESPOND TO THEM EMAILS, ACTUALLY GO ON THE WEBSITE AND LOG IN AND DO ALL SURVERY AVAILABLE. I ALWAYS CASH OUT WITH AMAZON GIFT CARDS. IVE BOUGHT A LOT FROM THERE FOR GIFTS OVER THE PAT 2 YEARS.HIGHLY RECCOMEND!
  • I have been taking surveys for a couple of weeks now. They send emails indicating how long a survey will take and how many reward points you will get for the survey; they are almost always wrong on both accounts. The surveys I have taken almost always take much longer that the survey client's estimate. The only way you can complete in the estimated amount of time is if you literally fly through the survey. This, of course, means that the survey client is collecting bad information and opinions which are neither honest or accurate. I have taken a number of political surveys which seemed very biased and when I answer the questions, contrary to this bias, I am kicked out of the survey sometimes after I have spent significant amount of my time and then I get no rewards. Many of the surveys I have taken will admit you into the survey and after getting half way through they kick you out of the survey after gathering a lot of data from-for free.
  • I used Opinion Outpost off and on for about a year and got decent rewards that I use for iTunes. It is now 2016 and today I have a BIG WARNING: Today one of the surveys tried multiple times, and unsuccessfully, to turn on my WEBCAM remotely. I was not warned in advance that the webcam would be used. I always opt out of any survey that asks if it can use the webcam; this one did not ask, and because I have a post-it note covering my webcam it kept popping up with an error message. Be warned! Even though Opinion Outpost partners with legitimate companies like Harris Polls and Nielsen Ratings, they also partner with companies that have no qualms about hacking into your computer under the guise of conducting a survey. I have just cancelled my Opinion Outpost membership and now I have to have an IT consultant come over and ensure that there is no remote camera or microphone software installed on my computer by these bums!
  • cant login my account is frozen tried to email they dont answer
  • i had a lot of points racked up, they deactivated my account, when i asked for a reason why, they never gave a reason why.
  • I don't believe that OpinionOutpost is a scam, but they are aloof (self-centered). They seem to believe that you should be extremely grateful and strictly observe their "rules" for the privilege of working for them for about one dollar an hour (50 cents an hour if you include the time spent "qualifying"). They give you no recourse to their "decisions", any errors or misunderstandings will always be your fault, and they constantly believe that you are a thief just trying to steal their hard earned money. Be aware, you WILL lose your last compensation check since they will simply not respond if they so choose. My suggestion is to keep the amount of your compensation low and cash your points as quickly as possible. My advice, however, is to make your extra money salvaging tin cans and robbing the homeless. In the long-run, you will feel much less bitter.
