Paid Consumer is an online market research company located at PaidConsumer.com, which claims to help anyone earn extra money in their spare time by taking online surveys, which pay $25-$75 per survey.
To sign up for a membership, you must be at least 18 years of age and live in the United States. At this time, Paid Consumer does not have an international market research branch.
In order to obtain a membership, the website says you must apply for one using a valid, active email account, and that you will begin receiving surveys as soon as your application is evaluated and approved.
How It Works
After your membership has been approved, Paid Consumer claims they will immediately send you any surveys that you are qualified to take, as well as give you access to the Top 10 Surveys, and a full list of survey panels.
Market research through this company consists of both surveys and product panels, or studies, which is often when you are given access to a product or product description and then asked for your feedback.
You will be paid directly by the company whose survey you are taking, not Paid Consumer. If you do not actively participate in surveys or product panel invitations for six months or longer, the company reserves the right to cancel your membership.
What to Watch Out For
While earning money completing market research tasks and trials is a legit way to make money online, Paid Consumer is not so much a market research company as a company that directs you to other companies, such as Panda Research or GetPaidToTry.
And their “application,” as they call it, is really just your basic contact information and a valid email address which, according to their Privacy Policy, they will use to send you information on products and services that “may be of interest to you,” and your information will also be shared with third parties for “marketing purposes.”
Both of these things essentially mean that your information will be used to contact you for sales and advertising, which may not be something that you want.
If you are still interested in signing up for this membership, you may want to use an email address that is specific to this purpose, so that your regular email address is not overwhelmed by advertisements.
