Profit Web System

Profit Web System is a work at home opportunity currently being promoted by Katie Smith and Angela Bussio, and described on their website as “the biggest money making secret of 2012.”

Katie Smith and Angela Bussio are previously responsible for Home Profit Masters and the Profit Masters Academy, two other work at home opportunities that focused on link posting and affiliate marketing just like Profit Web System.

It is not uncommon for internet marketing training courses to repackage their information under a new title and through a new website; these courses tend to accumulate large numbers of negative reviews by customers who were unsuccessful with their training, which leads to the company needing a fresh start to keep up their sales.

The question that new customers must ask themselves is whether the negative reviews are due to the failings of the users, who are now simply venting their frustration, or are they due to the failings of the company?

What Profit Web System Promises

According to their website, anyone of any age and background can do this job from home with “no over head,” they can learn to do it in one afternoon, and they can begin earning money immediately with “no training.”

In addition, the website says that users can expect to earn an average of $15 per link they post which, coupled with the fast pace at which links can be posted, means that you can easily earn $375 per day.

Finally, if there is some reason you are unhappy with this system or are unable to make money with it, the sales page states there is a 2 month “Make Money or It’s Free” guarantee, meaning that if you cannot earn money in the first 60 days you can request a refund of the $97 cost of Profit Web System.

The Problems

Internet marketing is a legitimate way of earning money online and in some cases has led to people earning large sums of money, which is why it is such a popular opportunity.

Unfortunately, internet training programs tend to grossly misrepresent the difficulty of this business, in order to convince people to buy their product. And Profit Web System – just like Home Profit Masters and Profit Masters Academy – is guilty of severely misleading their customers.

First, no one is “paid to post links,” they are given a commission when their link results in a sale. Because of this, it is almost deceptive to tell their customers to expect a specific commission per link and to tell them that they can begin making money immediately.

Secondly, it is almost certainly untrue when they say their link posting opportunity has “no over head.” Overhead refers to the operating costs of a business, and internet marketing certainly has costs. Even if you are provided with a free website, which is often the case, there is the cost of hosting and maintenance, and often advertising costs.

Finally, even though the sales page of Profit Web System says they have a Money Back Guarantee, their Terms & Conditions doesn’t list any refund policy or any details on this guarantee. This means that there is no real policy, and therefore no real way for you to claim a refund if you should need one.

Update: This program is now being marketed under a new name, Web Fortune Masters by Angela Bussio.

  • I an so grateful to all of you for posting these reviews. I am retired and living on Social Security Disability which is very difficult. So I started to fill out the application for this work at home business but then chickened out before putting in my payment information. However, I had put in my phone # so I got a call right away. I never do this, but I went ahead and signed up for the program, then asked for the name of the company which led me to this site! I quickly called my credit card company who asked me to call them and ask them to cancel the charges. Or I could cancel my account and open a new one. I chose to call them and they were very nice and said it would take 3 - 5 days to reverse the charges. But I won't feel secure until they actually do it!!!! Bless you all for confirming that little voice in my head that I temporarily ignored.
    • When I see these offers that looks so easy to make money , and when you feel to subscribe , you see that require money before, for me I feel suspicious immediately, it is surely a scam
  • I have been out of work since last August. And like many feeling desperate for income. I have worked never been without a job for over 35 years. I went to this sight but did read the fine print (a lesson learned from previous online purchases) and got out of there immediately. Then googled and found this sight and all of you. I am so greatful that I did and saved myself from debt I can't afford. Thank you all so very much!! And wish you all luck in the job search!
  • I did my homework about Profit Web Systems and thought it still might be a good thing and profitable for the summer. The salesman asked me how my credit was, if I had a savings and checking account and "You'll agree with me that you have to spend money to make money, right?" He also asked me questions that would only ellicit a positive response from me. I know sales. He was slick. Once I realized that the slick salesman was not interested in helping me but in me helping him, I told him that it was not for me and we hung up. I have been harassed no fewer than 15 times since then with other slick salesmen who start asking me the same questions. I ask each to take my name off their list but they all HANG UP ON ME as I am speaking. They're all smiles and business until they realize I won't help them. I can't get them to stop calling and have reported them to the BBB.
  • Hello All, yes I did make a purchase too excited about making some extra cash. I just made the purchase this morning and then starting reading all of these reviews and immediately call my credit card company to cancel. The credit card company was able to get someone on the phone name Galvin 888-682-7276 was the phone number he gave, giving his permission to cancel the transaction. I was really hoping this was a sure thing, but of course why should you have to pay to work from home, I feel stupid too for falling for it.
  • Thank you sooo much for all the information I have read fro you guys! i was just about to join when i tried to look for the reviews of this website.

    You have saved me !
  • Its a SCAM!!!!

I also started getting blank call from the number 206-319-9835.

Please dont get into this trap and waste your money.
  • I m so happy to read this website before i do anything stupied thank you all for the comments ......and good luck
  • It says "Work from home" That tells me it's a job. I have to pay them to work for them... That tells me it's a scam. Period.
  • They haven't got me yet, nor will they. I was just removed from their call list after exploding at one of their operators. They called me at least 12 times from various different numbers including 202-969-0942, 206-319-9835, 203-433-3466 and a restricted number as well.

If this company was legit, why all the different numbers from all over the country?
  • When considering whether these work at home things are a scam or not, one must only ask themselves one question. If so much money is to be made by posting links and what not....why in the hell wouldn't the people that are trying to scam you be using their own business model instead of trying to get you to do it>?? If these people were legit, they would simply hire a ton of people at 8 dollars an hour to sit around in their office doing nothing but posting links all day.. As to the person suggesting that people go to the site that offers work at home positions but first you must pay for training and background check..this is also a scam.. No reputable business is ever going to charge you for training!!
