Real Writing Jobs Reviews – Legit or Scam?

RealWritingJobs.com is a website that’s designed to help people find a variety of writing jobs; they claim to have a ton of leads and are simply acting as middleman between writers and contractors.

These types of sites have been around before and usually provide mixed results. These sites work by using software which visits a collection of job search sites, freelance websites, and other areas online where work for writers gets posted. They then return these results in your members’ area.

In most cases these are real writing jobs and are usually put out by website and blog owners who want cheap labor to fill their sites full of content. Other examples may involve writing product reviews that again are used by webmasters.

The one thing you need to be careful of is overhyped promises of riches; you may have been told that you can get paid up to $125 for writing one article but that is by far the exception and definitely not the rule when it comes to working with sites like RealWritingJobs.com.

First off, the really high paying jobs require the ability to not only write well but to be able to write on highly technical issues like medicine or electronics. Second, if these jobs do get publicly posted they are reserved for highly experienced writers that can provide web references for their work.

Bottom line is, don’t get too excited about massive payouts. Realistically you’ll be looking at a range of $5 – $12 per article or blog post. The sad fact is that real writing jobs, along with other coveted online work, gets outsourced overseas, making it difficult for US based freelancers to compete and making them work for much lower pay.

Is RealWritingJobs.com a Scam?

Since RealWritingJobs.com does what they say they do – provide you with leads for real writing jobs – it’s not a scam in the sense that they are being blatantly deceptive. However, there have been issues in the past with their billing policy and the quality of their service.

RealWritingJobs.com used to require a monthly payment for continued membership access to their writing responsibilities, which was frustrating for members who were paying more to maintain their membership than they were often earning.

The website has addressed this issue, and they are now offering membership for a one time fee. This fee has changed over time and is currently quoted at $34.00, though the one time membership fee has been as high as $68.00.

Fortunately this one time fee is processed through Clickbank. This means their service also now comes with a 60 day, no questions asked guaranteed refund policy if you are not happy with the service they are providing.

  • It's a scam! Heed my warning don't do it! They DO NOT honor their refund guarantee! 6 years ago, I e-mailed them and asked about details of this program and they responded very quickly and convinced me to sign up and pay the fee and mind you I was really young at the time in college and had no job. I wanted to make extra money and I was desperate, so I did it. Yet, I became dissatisfied and requested a refund TWICE I e-mailed them and they NEVER replied! They were quick to convince me to spend my money when that was all I had, but when I wanted my money back they were no one where to be found! DON'T DO IT!
  • Requesting an immediate REFUND of $47. Completely dissatisfied.
  • its not a scam and its still operating
  • I have searched the web for writhing jobs, and all it leads to is pay for something that you're not looking for. It seems that most of what's out there to be offered is nothing but scams on in.
  • Its a scam
  • please help me, i lost my order number, how can i claim a refund without it?
  • Thank you for reviews thanks to theses I will not pay the fee, however, every time I try to close the page it reduces fee by 50% final desperate offer for me to give my money was a $12 fee. Still I have declined. Thank you. Am wondering though as paypal seems to be a payment option that maybe you can then cancel it via paypal?
  • Thanks to all the comments and reviews here. I was seriously considering joining Real Writing Jobs /My Writing Job (same company)- after all, only $34 one time fee and a $60 "ironclad" (their words) guarantee or money refunded.

Here I have read two full pages of nothing but negative reviews and comments and I am actually really hoping to find a good review about RWJ.com, after all, surely it couldn't be a total scam -if they have been going for so many years. But then I started to suspect that they may be based in India. The alarm bells started up.

Many people are complaining about why they should have to pay a fee. Well, to me these people are not very bright, because they tell you why there is a fee; if they do what they say they will do, then obviously there are costs they have to cover. They say they will supply you with hundreds of job options per week. Not only that, they offer 6 writer's tools apparently worth $3780. Obviously that is horrendously inflated, however these two things of course would be worth $34. If everything is ridgy-didge, straight down the line (Australian-speak for honest and up-front), then the $34 one-time fee is a total bargain for useful software along with constant jobs supplied to your inbox.

However, upon closer scrutiny of this site, via the dozen or so experiences of other people, I read that emails and phone calls to their support staff are not answered, nor are requests for refunds. Also that the jobs listed have other competing writers vying for them and have to be bid on, often leading to links to other sites where more upfront fees have to be paid in order to access the jobs.

So everything considered, we come back to the old adage: "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is". Especially with the claim of "No Experience necessary" along with wild claims of the income potential.

My opinion of what occurs is that it is an overseas based company that makes money from thousands of people joining up each month based on a framework with some substance but not much.

Sorry for the length of this review and thanks for reading.
    • Thanks for your comments... I was almost paying that fee, but after reading this along with the others I'll definitely give up it.
  • People be warned - Real Writing Job.com is a SCAM and nothing more

Just a way to fleece your money from you. Their 60 day money back

guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. DON'T SIGN UP

WITH THEM. There are good internet businesses out there, but certainly NOT Real Writing Job.com.
  • BEFORE I hit the send button, I decided to do some research and I AM GLAD I did. I'm too old and poor to be chasing 40 bucks across India and the rest of the world. Ethics and professionalism is NOT a requisite for any company anymore. Yes it's only 40 bucks but multiply that by a few hundred thousand and Viola, they're making money. All of us need to watch "American Greed" on TV more often.

    Thank you for this page.
