Survey Junkie, located online at SurveyJunkie.com, is a website which offers their members the ability to participate in various forms of market research through a variety of companies in order to earn money from home.

Their website says that with them, you can receive surveys earning between $2 and $75 each, as well as participate in focus groups at up to $120 an hour, and evaluate new products in trials which allow you to keep the products for free.

Signing up with Survey Junkie is free, and only requires an active email account as well as for you to fill out a short questionnaire that will allow them to match you with the appropriate surveys and panels.

Does Survey Junkie Work?

Survey Junkie is not actually a real market research website. Instead, they are more like a lead generation website – they get all of your contact information and instead of supplying you with the actual surveys, they match you with the actual survey providers.

After you submit your questionnaire, you will be asked if you are interested in “more information” on a variety of different opportunities, which is the same as giving your permission to their partner websites to contact you with advertisements and offers.

Once you have bypassed this part, however, they do match you with companies that claim to provide market research opportunities, such as IPSOS.

Is It Safe?

Legit market research companies are safe to sign up with and offer you real ways to earn extra money from home. In general, you can expect to receive a few survey opportunities each week for a payment of $1 to $3 per survey, on average. These companies will generally pay you in cash or gift cards to major retailers like Amazon.

There are, however, many different ways for scam websites to pass themselves off as market research companies. Sometimes they pay you in “points” which then allow you to be entered into a “sweepstakes for prizes” – which means that you will rarely receive any compensation for the work you are doing.

But the thing to be most aware of is “offers” and “trials.” Survey websites will often provide these opportunities to you, and they will pay much more than taking a basic survey.

However, these opportunities require diligence and caution, because often if you do not pay close attention to the details of the offer, you will actually end up spending more money than you will earn for participating in these offers.

  • Survey Junkie is awful
  • SURVEY JUNKIE'S WEBSITE IS FULL OF TECHNICAL GLITCHES,AND THEIR ADMINS TOTALLY LIVE IN DENIAL! YOU HAVE TO RAISE HELL IN ORDER TO GET THE POINTS YOU HAVE EARNED AFTER YOU GET SCREWED AFTER A COMPLETED SURVEY!

DON'T BOTHER WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU,THEY HAVE 430+ COMPLAINTS ON FILE AND WON'T DO JACK! THE BEST THING TO DO IS FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FBI INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTER (IC3.Gov);SOONER OR LATER,THEY WILL TAKE NOTICE!
  • It'll take decades to accumulate enough points to buy anything from this site. You're either too late to the party (survey filled up) or you don't qualify or "UH OH" message saying there's something wrong with how their survey is loading. I have YET to be 'allowed' to complete one single survey. Guess it's because I'm white, female, over a certain age, don't have young children anymore, don't make enough money....the list is endless and involves stupid parameters. Don't waste your time. I have better things to do with mine.
  • I accumulated 963 points in Survey Junkie, next thing I noticed my points dropped to 230. Survey Junkie is a scam for that reason.
  • I tried to redeem 4,000 survey points ($40). Instead of sending a redemption code, survey junkie blocked my access to their site. This seems to be a common practice with survey junkie, and there are many failure to pay complaints listed with the San Jose, CA, better business bureau. Tomorrow I plan to also file a complaint with the California Attorney General's office. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure - never sign up with this site.
  • They will scam you all day long. I took photos for proof. Most of what you do will be completely unpaid. They do things like freeze up saying thanks, but the page goes nowhere. Or you spend 30mins completing the survey, give them what they need, and spit you out saying sorry you didnt qualify. Even though you just did the entire thing lol. Horrible company and even worse people. Avoid like the plague. Or work for free, have fun. Beware, they flood you with fake 5star reviews. Read all the bad reviews, they all say same thing. Scam.
  • It seems every survey is questions about me, not my opinion, but asking race, income, age etc. Anyone else?
  • They're a bunch of not good people (or not a good person if they're a one-person show). I did surveys and cashed out everytime I was over the $10.00 amount, around 6 or 7 times - about a year ago,and then I didn't do any surveys while traveling for 4 months. Came back started doing them again, and I'm up over $20.00 worth, to cash out. When trying to cash out and deposit those funds into the Paypal acct. that I've had for over 10 years, it says, that I need to contact them. So I jumped through those hoops to try to contact them and they finally, after several days sent me a message saying that they needed to call me & to chose a time, so I gave them a number and time, and never heard from them. Received one call from an unknown number but it wouldn't allow me to call the number back. It's been going on 2 weeks now so it sure seems that they have turned in to TYPICAL GREEDY ONLINE SCAMPSTERS. Go elsewhere to try to make a penny, as your time is valuable.
  • I've been with SJ for about 2 months or so and have made about $200. Yesterday, for the THIRD time, I was locked out. I've sent two email with no response for this latest transgression. I have no idea what I did to be sent to SJ jail. If I could find another survey site that paid as well, I would dump them. AND they have my almost $27 held hostage as well. Sick of being treated like a criminal. I'm 60 years old, honest, and try to answer each question the best I can. I've been kicked out of surveys, before a question was even asked, for being dishonest!!! Really??? Thanks for listening.....
    • I also have been booted out several times. I notced a question asked how many kids I gave, I put 2. I also have my 2 grandkids I keep, and it didn't ask about other kids, it asked specifically about my kids that are grown. NOW I am getting no sureys avail.
  • I joined Survey Junkie and they screwed me out of an hour of my time, before I figured out their scam. They let me take a few surveys for very low points, but then they kept disqualifying me from each survey at or near the end of each survey. Then they say sorry, here's 3pts for trying, which adds up to less than a penny!!!
