TeleTech is a work at home opportunity found online at HirePoint.com, which gives people the chance to truly find a part time, telecommuting job prospect that they can do successfully from the comfort of their home.

Most jobs you find online are not real jobs being offered by employers. Rather they are at home business opportunities that require a lot of time and effort – and many times, a lot of money – to get up and running before you can rely on a steady income.

TeleTech, on the other hand, genuinely offers a work from home opportunity, which gives you the chance to keep a specific schedule with a steady pay rate and a bi-weekly direct deposit paycheck.

How Does TeleTech Work?

TeleTech is a business process outsourcing company, not unlike competitors Alpine Access or Convergys, which partners with major companies from all over the world and helps them find and train a team of at home employees to handle important business functions that don’t necessarily need to be conducted from a brick and mortar office.

These functions include customer service phone calls, as well as “back office processing” such as financial transactions or social media management responsibilities.

TeleTech job opportunities are not available nationwide, unfortunately. They currently do not offer positions in eight of the fifty states, and the only Canadian location they service is Nova Scotia.

TeleTech Requirements

If you are interested in working with TeleTech, you must be able to meet certain requirements. First, you must have a dedicated home office that you can ensure will be quiet and interruption free for at least 4-6 hour shifts each day you work.

You must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, as well as have a personal computer, high speed internet service that is a cable, DSL, or fiber connection, and a landline which will only be used for work calls during work hours.

If you do not have a landline currently, TeleTech says that you may wait until after you have been offered a position to order one.

Finally, you must be able to successfully pass a series of skills based exams, including one where you show an ability to appropriately use their software system. After you are hired, you will have to complete training before you can begin earning money, but unlike other telecommuting companies, you will never be required to pay for training.

Compensation for working with TeleTech depends on the final position you’ll be offered, what company you will be assigned to, and how many hours you work each week, but you will be given an hourly rate and paid bi-weekly.

  • scam scam.... they will send you a cheque and will ask to make mobile deposit and then get the cash and give it to a vendor. Its like a mafia. Don't fall for this. They will say HR will contact you this crap and that. SCAM
  • I have a quiet atmosphere to work for teletech.
  • I worked in actual call center and@home position. If you work they will pay without a problem. Its a good company.
  • I answered a job posting thru Craigslist, which was probably already questionable. It sounded good like ALL scams, and someone who could barely speak English called me the very next day. She asked if I was still interested in the job and then started asking some "off the cuff" questions such as my date of birth. I asked why she needed that, and she said to properly process my application, she needed that information. I flat-out told her no. Then she asked a few more strange questions and asked said if I was being considered, I would receive a call for an interview. I said ok and was already deciding against it when I got another call from the same type thick accent asking me almost the same exact questions as the previous lady. I answered her questions until she became adamant about getting my date of birth, too. I told her no legitimate company in the US is supposed to ask for your birthdate as a pre-screening tool. I asked point blank if the company was a scsm, as if she was really going to admit it. Finally, I told her I wasn't giving out my birthdate and told her I was no longer interested. I thought that was that until a few minutes later, I received a text confirming an interview time and date. Of course, I didn't go because it really sounded like a scam. After hanging up with her, I checked the reviews out wow, there were tons of complaints about them. It turns out they are an actual company, but are very deceitful and shady in their dealings. Thanks but NO THANKS! BEWARE AND BE WARNED ABOUT TELETECH!!!
  • Working for teletech offers you the convenience of working from home for more than minimum wage.

I worked for teletech for several months. I was hired for one position, but once training began, was told that the position would not be available until after the holidays. I was also told that if I wanted to obtain that position, I would have to go through with the customer service position and work it until the "tech" training began that January. The customer service position paid less and the tech position never became available. I believe it was a lie to begin with. It was a part time position, so I dealt with it until I decided to quit.

Training was paid and I had plenty of hours thru the holiday season, but I'm not sure what it would've been like otherwise.

Overall, the experience was not bad. The worst part was that they said I could have every Saturday off for religious purposes, but reneged. I called in every Saturday, with no problem. However, I went out of town one weekend and got snowed in. I couldn't return home to work, so I quit before I was fired so that I would be considered re-hire able. This is not a problem if you work from a laptop.

I'm giving this review a 4 because I feel like they are not completely honest during recruitment. Otherwise, it's a job. And a convenient one at that.
    • Did they send you a check to purchase all of your equipment? Im hearimg this is a scam
    • I've worked on several projects for Teletech. No they do not send you a check to get your supplies. You must provide a usb headset compatible with their software they use, a compatible laptop or desktop,an ethernet to connect your router or modem to the computer you will be using, and high speed internet. They state these are items that must be supplied by the agent and are not going to be reimbursed to you! If the position requires a land line phone it will state on the job, otherwise you will be using a usb headset to receive calls via calls inside a secure workspace on voip. I was employed for one of my projects for over a year, and then due to staffing cuts, did lose my job. So yes it's a legit company. Now I see they are requiring you to purchase a usb drive to put the software on. Anyone who has ever worked from home before usually has the basic start or either the full set up of a home office. Also a side note: they have a strict no background noise policy! You are paid every 2 weeks unless otherwise stated, via direct deposit or you can opt for their paycard that they have. I'm actually waiting to get on my offer call today for another job with them!
  • I applied for a job listed on the website and the job was for working at home and the ad clearly said it was full time I had to apply four different times and to this day they cant tell me what happen to my application for full time they lie like crazy they say its full time then they change the salary , hours on you run its a rip off
  • When they send you the fraudulent cashiers check, be sure to call the FBI and your local sheriff department so they can catch these lizards.
  • I think TeleTech recruits way too many people than they actually hire but keep you thinking you have the job the whole time. First I applied for the job online, then they email you (I am sure they are just computer generated) the requirements for the computer you need which is a lot of RAM, I bought a different more powerful desk top, then I had to buy a headset for the computer, then I had to download their software, then they did a systems check, all of this is taking several days so far, then I did not hear from them for a couple weeks, then they emailed me saying I needed to log into to a group session for the job description and offer, I accepted the offer still thinking I had the job, they said I needed a landline phone which I had installed just for this job because who uses that anymore?, they told me a orientation date and a start training date, after the job offer THEN they have you fill out what they call a POST OFFER APPLICATION and do several forms of paper work and fax/email it in to them.. Then after that I never heard from them again and my orientation date came and gone.. Also they email you a name and phone number of a person who is suppose to be your recruiter in case you have any questions but the phone number goes straight to voicemail and no one returns your calls.. I am not saying TeleTech is a total SCAM but do not invest any time or (MONEY) for this position...
  • Teletech does not treat their employee fairly. Employees are hired for chat at low pay and are told that they would only be performing chat and when they were hired for low pay they were forced to take voice calls for the same pay; knowing that if they would have hired them for voice that they would have had to pay more. These employees were told that it was an error in print and they have no choice to work it or to deal with the consequences but they remind you of the distraction free commitment that you were told to have at hire but seem to not keep their word on why they hired you and some employees have worked their whole shift on voice instead of what they were hired for with no extra pay. After checking indeed, they pay customer service $10.00 hour but chat is like $8 and are not paid extra for handling voice like the voice agents are paid for. So they prey on the young, single, college students and mothers who are at home and depend on the pay. This company is constantly changing the employees’ schedules having the employees to have to disrupt their whole life constantly with no other option other than forcing them to have to get with hundreds of other employees to see if someone wants to switch and there are no partial switches for certain day. Part-timers do not have sick time, personal time or another time and if you miss a day you are wrote up and can be possible

terminated even if it is an emergency and you have proof. Part-time have only 10 minutes for break and truthfully 8 if you are over on a call or chat and you have to post why, what time and so forth, clock out and let them know you are going on break then come back and clock in, and set in ready mode. They have the option to tell you if you can take your break or not at the designated time that had been set in the time room; depending on if they are busy. Teletech is not very fair and understand that they have a business to run but they must understand that without their employees they have no business. There are many wonderful people at TeleTech that are busting their bottom but Teletech does not make it easy. These employees are being told that they have to get the customers off the phones/chat in what started as 12 minutes, then 10 and if they are not off the phone then they are question as to why they are still on the phones/chat and are told to update them/ and to hurry up and wrap these calls up which means that many members are not getting the attention they deserve. However, the employees are being told don’t let the members off of the phone/chat without assisting them but the time is limited to ten 10 which isn’t enough for many of the members issues to be resolved. Your time and calls are monitored where it is a team who sits back all day long and monitor what you speak and it you didn’t give the close they wanted or you didn’t make a sale and so on they know about it.

They are able to watch your screen while you work. Last but not least, there was another employee who had just started and was put out on the floor and you can tell she was nervous and other employees were able to listen in to her call without her knowing and they laughed and talked about it. All the employees are there to learn and I believe that if that employee knew that she would have been mortified and hurt. The employees there have no privacy at all. They train you but all the material learned is not learned in the time of training and so you are forced out on the floor even if you tell them you are not ready or comfortable. Fitbit never works and really don't think they are compatible because of all the issues.
    • I, too, was hired for chat and then the 'ol bait and switch thing was handed to me following several weeks of training. Was told I'd have to take voice calls and make so many sales, or else. I quit that day. Fools! Took the training cash and ran, fast, and never looked back! Didn't care much for working off the clock, booting up, logging off, etc., without pay. But that's what class action lawsuits are for; eh?!
    • mike you sir are the dummy
    • Any call center rather its from home or in an office has the ability, to not only listen in but watch your screen without you knowing. Of course Tele Tech will watch you work from time to time, you work from home dummy. Its easier to slack when you dont think someone is watching you. They dont lie about being able to watch you work, your told that in training,
  • Teletech did pay me for training, but it seems that everything, even including that is up to the contractor. They did not make the requested medical adjustments for me even after I provided a doctor's not with contact information, and when 3/4ths of my training class was moved to the position that would help assist my medical position, I was sent to do what i clarified I physically and mentally could not do.

I you are part time and/or temp you will be bounced around regularly to prevent having to handle unemployment situations.

Just be clear on the contractor's standards and history and you will be just fine.
