Beyond.com

Beyond.com is a jobs database board that allows you to join, post a resume, and apply to jobs for free. They claim their network connects over 25 million professionals.

Beyond also has a feature called the Career Portfolio, which acts as a one stop shop for job resumes. It has all your information, your cover letter, your awards and certifications, and any other information you would like potential employers to see.

While you are signed up at Beyond.com, you will receive new job postings via email. In addition, you will receive special offers for products and services that may be relevant to your interests or job search.

Whenever you choose to no longer belong to Beyond.com, you do not delete your account in case you may need it later. Rather you inactivate the account so potential employers can no longer see your resume.

Finally, Beyond.com also offers a host of articles and services that are intended to improve your job search.

  • This service only shows you information they pull from other external sources, and they throw a subscription fee at you over halfway into your setup process. I unknowingly started my profile, saw the direction it was going, and quit, but still continue to get constant spam emails after removing all alerts from the account. No "unsubscribe" options, only boxes you can un-check that still don't stop them from sending you things. I had to create a rule in my gmail just to send it all to spam.

    Awful.
  • This is such a spammy place. I should have known that I didn't have to sign up with them just to view a job, but I did and have regretted it ever since. I keep getting calls and emails from insurance companies trying to offer me sales jobs. I don't do sales. And it's the same companies over and over again. I went to Beyond's site to get myself taken off their directory and their sign-in page is not secure! No way I was going to put my password in there.

Now I'm getting scam emails like I never have before. Do not sign up with them or open a job posted by them!!
    • Thanks for reminding me not to use beyond dot com. I thought I remembered that they harrassed me previously regarding attending school even though I told them I was not interested several times. And they never have the particular job that you applied for in the first place.

Thanks again for the heads up and good luck to all who are seeking meaningful employment.
    • WARNING! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR BEYOND.COM!!!!!!!!!

I have to say the beyond.com is pure crap, I'm being harrassed by email and phone to sign up for college. IM LOOKING FOR A JOB NOT A SCHOOL!!! It should be illegal for companies to trick job seekers into signing up then tell them they have to UPGRADE to apply for a job. These people should be forced to give the following disclaimer:

"If you create an account to view our fictitious job board you must upgrade and pay us to apply for our imaginary positions to which you will never receive a response, however we reserve the right to harass you via email and telephone calls to get you to enroll in our un-accredited fake degree courses, and by the way, non of the courses are within an hours drive of your home."

Get a life, 90% of people looking for work can barley afford to eat regularly! Most are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. If I ever figure out a way to block and bing back on you guys, trust that I will. I'm going to write reviews on every site I can.
  • They suck. I basically check up on the leads provided by Websites, i.e. call the companies to see how valid they are. Beyond posts jobs that do not even exist.

This lead for Planned Parenthood on 5/5/2016 is not a legitimate lead.

Following: Help Desk Administrator Near: New Rochelle NY (Edit)

    Edit Profile

IT Help Desk Administrator Planned Parenthood of New York City posted a job in New York NY

Which goes to show how frequent the monitor their business
  • I have tried repeatadly to stop the e-mails and notifications un-sucsefully. I no longer need help finding work!!!! Doesnt seem to matter. Cant talk to anyone #They dont care. Should have checked the reviews prior. VERY DISSATISFIED!
  • Just got my first email fron them and checked reviews before moving foward. So many complaints against this, folks should File a class action law suit .
  • Not quite a scam site (yet) but they are heading that way.

Jobs listed there lead you to other sites to apply on. When you arrive, they make you register to apply and the job may or may not actually be real.
  • I was using Beyond for a couple days to search local jobs and I got a call from a very rude gentleman for a position that I didn't apply for and he got mad at me for wasting his time(...?!). Upon further research, the only job site that that company is listed on...Beyond. So, they sent out my information to random companies for positions that I did not want to apply to, without my consent. Do not use this website. There are plenty of better legit sites.
  • Pure and simple spam. I know I never signed up. I think a "recruiter" somewhere signed me up. Wonder if it's related to the Ladders; they engage in a similar deceptive approach.
  • A few days ago, I used GlassDoor to apply for a job 'at the company web site". Somehow I was redirected to sign up at Beyond.com, which I had not heard of before. Within two days I was getting more than six emails daily. I edited the job search settings to specific job titles (exact match setting) and a 10 mile radius. I still got hundreds of inappropriate jobs that were 60 miles away.

Today was the last straw. Firstly a message on my cell phone from someone who needs to interview me 'immediately' but only left a phone number and no company name! Then the message from Aflac pushing their 'opportunity'. I just deleted my account. I'll stick to more reputable places like Simply Hired.
  • I stated that I do not want to go I of California anymore. I wish to recant this. I only want to go Local, Regional, Or Line Haul, Not 48 states and Canada.
