Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • They make it sound so easy and so promising just a meer $795 to complete your dreams. I was dealing with Leo Petrullio. I often wondered how a CEO of such a big company would have time to call me everyday.I called there one day and low and behold the voice on the answering service claiming to be George Davison himself was actually the voice of Leo Petrullio. So when he called me back I told him I did not want to proceed with my idea. SO GLAD I NEVER SENT HIM ANY MONEY!!! Always follow your gut feeling..
  • Scam! Period!
  • I came up with an invention, and during the process, sent them $100.00 of the $800.00 they asked for. Then, a friend sent me a link showing several very BAD reviews. I was furious. I called Davison, asking for my money back, and, asking them to call me back. That was a week ago, and I haven't heard a word since. It cost me $100.00 to find out that they are fakes. Telling the American public that they can make thousands, or more for their inventions. A reputable company would at the very least, returned my call. Think about it. If they got $100.00 just from me, how many MILLIONS have they gotten from other unsuspecting people, making them think that their big dream of being an inventor was about to come true, only to find out the they got SCAMMED?????? PEOPLE, IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA, BUILD ONE FOR YOURSELF, AND ENJOY IT. IF YOU CAME UP WITH THE IDEA, CHANCES ARE GOOD THAT YOU CAN BUILD ONE. DO IT!!!! THEN, WHEN SOMEONE SEES IT, AND ASKS "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT"? YOU CAN PROUDLY SAY, "I BUILT THIS". DON'T LET THESE WORTHLESS SCUMBAGS RIP YOU OFF. BECAUSE THEY WILL. I AM ON DISABILITY, AND HOPED TO FINALLY MAKE A PRODUCT THAT WOULD NOT ONLY HELP PEOPLE, BUT ALSO SAVE LIVES. IT WENT FROM THAT, TO DAVISON TELLING ME THAT THEY ONLY DEAL IN SMALLER ITEMS SOLD IN RETAIL STORES, AND TO TURN IT INTO A TOY THAT CHILDREN CAN PLAY WITH. I SPENT MORE THAN A WEEK MAKING CHANGES TO MY DRAWINGS, ONLY TO HAVE MY DREAMS SMASHED UPON THE ROCKS. BUILD YOUR OWN WORKING MODEL, AND ENJOY, KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE A ONE OF A KIND ITEM, AND SMILE, KNOWING THAT YOUR MONEY IS SAFE.
  • I also got a call to pay $795.00 and signed an Agreement at this point, and never to speak with any one. Thanks for all your valuable input.

  • I have notified my local F.B.I agency so they are aware of them for fraud.also gave me a link to file a complaint about them.which I amd doing that now.

noticed that people talking about quirky...they are in the same boat from what I can see.just do your research..i know I will for now in.
    • I've had bad dealings from quirky and from davisson, I can't believe the better business bureau isn't on top of all of this price gouging, piracy, and just in general, unsavory practices. I lost too many good ideas already
  • I was burned for $10,000 there has to be a way we all can get our money back. It just not fair they can continue to operate the way they do. We would all be in jail if we did what they do. Is there not some help out there???

    Very upset.
  • Shit well it sounds like from all the reviews I have or am fixin to get screwed.. good time to pull out..I came up with the $795.00 then another $1000 not I have picked a figure im supposed to come up with and pay royality of 10%.. im disabled and it took all I had to come up with this money and the product I have is very important to the medical industry... oh this really pisses me off..all done here
    • We're one in the same today. I too am disabled and informed them if such and they still took my $795! Couldn't we all camp out on their doorstep and wait for them to bring our money out or stay In there!
  • I have talk to somebody there about idea same things that you are talking about and that my product sound good and I had to pay seven dollars it's a didn't sign any forms supposed to talk to him today about product idea but I'm going to tell him I looked at Google and the Better Business Bureau and that they are scamthank you for all you guys are views my husband told me to look them up make sure they are legitimate I'm glad my husband tell me that
  • The federal trade commission should shut them down

They overstate their ability to get an invention in front of the target customer.. They send a letter stating that they are "In the process of reviewing your invention with the target customer" What they have done is mailed a letter and are hoping to get a response. I could have done that myself. The fact that they had to re-submit the invention 3 months later because they sent it to the wrong devision of the client re-enforces the fact that once they get your money the only thing they do under their "we try harder" process is make excuses and stall
  • Thank God I stopped giving Davison money when I did! I was skeptical but they reassurred me. Please do not give this company any money! I am going to try "Qwerk" as they were listed in TIME Magazine recently. God bless you all on your endeavors. I plan to lick my $10,000 wound and move forward. If we had one great idea, we have more, and we learned a painful lesson with Davison.
