Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • Everything that's said about this company is true. I've been talking with Sean Jones since December 2014 about my idea, and now he's begging me to stay with his Davison's because I have a great Idea! Sean never mentions anything about a 20-year patient with a patent attorney. I fill out my provisional application with a description and a picture of my idea which is only good for 12 month. The new company explained all of these procedures that must be met before your idea is marking.

Now Sean is telling me that I can't get my money back. 795.00 dollars. I'm so glad I have an attorney involved. Please don't do any business with this company. If the vice president is unprofessional makes promises that they can't a won't stand by, this tells me a lot about the president of this company. This company is paying off lawsuits period. Make sure you have a patent attorney before starting with any company and get a 20-year provisional application.
  • So glad I read these reviews I was in the process of starting.
  • They have my idea. I want it back! how do I get it?
    • They will not do anything with your idea. You signed a non-disclosure agreement before submitting your idea which explicitly states that they cannot; sell, use, or disclose your idea without your written consent as well as (and most importantly) without you sending in roughly $6,000 to $15,000 for their design, development and licensing services. Rest assured, they are not going to develop and put your "idea" on the marketplace on their own dime. That is not what the company is in business to do, they make their money from people who hire them for services.

Have your contact person there resend you their Non-Disclosure agreement again to your email and you will be able to see the stats of the company over the last five years as well as the Confidentiality Agreement. You can also go back on their website to submit an idea again and actually ready these agreements(again)as well.
  • Jip joe - Texas

Davidson is not to be trusted - our idea is on the market and it has made millions and millions of dollars - what did we get - $6500.00 poorer and a binder that is of no use and phone calls to get more money. What a shame? You got us super good - but now I know that we are not the only ones.

Keep the $6500.00 and just give us the 90% of the profit that has been made from our idea since the year of 2000. If I told the world what idea it was - you would say that it has made over a billion and not millions. One day when that time come - we will share what it was. What a shame - shame - shame on the Davidson for practice evil and greed.
    • I don't care what Erica says now; why was that staggering bit of information not disclosed when Davison asked for so much money? My idea is also on the shelves at WalMart and I had friends, as well as myself, search the web for anything remotely similar to my idea and there was nothing! Now the exact product is on the shelves with my description of it as well! I have proof and dates! I think Davison creates sub-companies and gets another EIN number then waits for the provisional contract run out and BAM! No one ever mentioned to me about making sure I had kept that up to date, as they were still after me for more and more money 2 years after that was up! I got my contract out and then read it word for word, and yep, it's in there! I was way too trusting and they were way too convincing. I didn't think I had to go over that contract so closely. I was wrong. When I questioned them about the initial contract, they just said they would help me through all that. I did all they said and sent the $125 and thought I was done!
    • They did not take your idea to market Joe. There are 7 billion people on this earth and the odds of someone creating a concept similar to yours and getting it on the market is quite high. If you see your (similar) product on the market, do the actual research to find out who is producing it and follow the trail back to how and when the concept was developed.

All to often people fall in love with their concept so much that they do not do the proper due diligence to see where/if it stands/already stands in the market place. Many people think they have an original idea that is not already being developed and being pursued to the marketplace, and thus see it out there and begin to think that the company they were working with stole it for their own personal gains.

What (most likely) happened was that you contracted this company for design and development services to try and entice a company to license and generate this product to the marketplace. What you didn't realize is that their success rate on generating a product license is 1.8% of all design and development agreements that they execute (over the last 5 years) and the actual number of people who ended up realizing a profit (over the last 5 years) is 16.

To put this into perspective (all of this information comes straight from their disclosure statement - FTC Mandate) 18,851 people (just like you) entered into design/development/licensing services with them and 16 people out of that bunch actually realized a profit. In decimal percentages that is .000848 chance (over the last five years - that they are reporting) of making a profit off of that venture.

That's 1/10th of 1%, pretty staggering considering the hopes and dreams of people like you that present the idea and then follow through on it in hopes of making money and living a better life one day.

The facts are cold and they are hard, but they are facts.....
    • Has anyone contacted the programs that the company was on like the early show or today show. I would think they would like to know that they misrepresented them too. Just an idea.
  • Dag,

I just got off the phone with Davison, thinking I was doing something big. Now I see what my gut was telling me, that it was too good to be true, As Mr. Love was speaking I felt like it was a little rushed a like that Car sales men pitch and that certainly made me start to be hesitant, then he said "O and it will only cost you 795.00 I don't know about many folk but only 795.00 to me is more than enough to say for what? If its my idea and you want to shop it around fine, but you get your cut when I make a profit, not by just saying o these are some figures proposed so where is our 10%.
    • Don't give them one dime and don't let them intimidate you either!!!
    • I support your statement if the ldea is to get us some money why do they ask for small amounts which will be covered in a second
  • I'm glad I found this site before going through the process. .thanks sorry for you guys lost
  • In 2000 this company screwed me out of $15K, but I didn't just hand it to them, before I gave them my money I actually went to Pittsburgh and met with several people, and wow, are they good scam artists! Anyway, they have given me nothing but a bunch of BS, never saw my prototype, never saw anything. Please, can we all do a class action lawsuit against these scam artists? my email is [email protected]
  • Wow,,now they have my idea to!! But. I have attorney !!!Shame on you Danielle SHAME ON YOU!!!
  • Wow thinking this you want to press your ideals and make a living for your family buy having and ideal come to life. And there's nothing happing but money being taking that I no I barley have for the dream the high hopes that this was the beginning of a dream. And there more negative things then positive.disturbed but grateful that so many have shared the journey of pain and high hopes. But learned a great lesson. Thanks D.Hunt
  • I AM WRITING IN LARGE LETTERS SHOUTING TO EVERYONE THAT DAVISON DESIGN IS AS CROOKED AS MY HIND LEG AS THEY PROVE THAT STATEMENT EACH AND EVERY DAY. I HAVE ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT THEY ARE IN BUSINESS TO MAKE MONEY AND NOT TO HELP THE INDIVIDUAL INVENTORS THAT STUPIDLY BECOME DAVISON CLIENTS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS GETTNG THEM TO COURT WITH THE PROOF. THEY HAVE INCLUDED A CLAUSE IN THEIR CONTRACT THAT STATES IF THERE IS ANY LEGAL ISSUES BETWEEN THE CLIENT AND DAVISON, BY SIGNING THE CONTRACT, THE CLIENT ( VICTIM ) MUST FILE THE LAW SUIT IN A PA COURT SYSTEM. THIS ELIMINATES THE MAJORITY OF JUSTICE SEEKERS BECAUSE THE LACK OF MONEY TO ENGAGE THEM IN A COURT BATTLE DESTROYS THE JUSTICE SYSTEM ENTIRELY. THEN THOSE THAT DO MANAGE TO HAVE THE MONEY MUST FACE THE WRATH OF THE PA JUSTICE SYSTEM WHICH IS APPARENTLY JUST AS CROOKED AS DAVISON IS. DAVISON IS NOT A MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, THEY ARE A MULTIPLE BILLION DOLLARS COMPANY AND YOU THE FOOL, YOU THE CLIENT ARE PAYING UP THE YING YANG FOR THEIR TREACHERY. THE OLD SAYING THAT MONEY TALKS AND *&%^$# TAKES A WALK IS VERY TRUE IN THIS CASE. IT TOOK ME OVER TEN YEARS OF FRUSTRATION AND HEAVY EXPENSES TO FINALLY GET THE TOTAL PICTURE WHERE AS I CAN PROVE AFTER MY INTERVIEWING EACH SO CALLED MANUFACTUEING REVIEWING COMPANYS THAT SUPPOSEDLY MY INVENTION HAD BEEN SHARED WITH COSTING ME OVER TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, EACH OF THEM TOLD ME THAT EITHER THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING ON MY BEHALF FROM DAVISON OR THAT THEY DID NOT WANT TO RECEIVE IDEAS AND WALK THEM THROUGH THE VARIOUS STAGES TO MARKET. WHAT THEY WANTED WAS READY MADE PRODUCTS THAT ALREADY HAD PATENTS AND WAS LICENCED MAKING THEM READY FOR IMMEADIATE RETAIL SALES. BY MY ( AFTER TEN YEARS ) OF GETTING NO WHERE WITH DAVISON, I FINALLY WENT WITH MY GUT FEELINGS BELIEVING THAT DAVISON HAD BEEN FOOLING ME FOR ALL THESE YEARS AND I WAS TOTALLY RIGHT. WHEN I SHARED WITH DAVISON THAT I HAD CONTACTED THESE COMPANIES THEY IMMEADIATELY CANCELLED MY CONTRACT ON BREACH OF CONTRACT AND DROPPED ME FLAT. I WAS STILL THINKING THAT I WAS DOING THEM A FAVOR AT THE TIME WHEREAS IT WAS AN EMPLOYEE PROBLEM OF MAKING JUST ANOTHER OF A SERIES OF MISTAKES. BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE, DAVISON IS CROOKED FROM THE GROUND UP AND THEIR ENTIRE PROGRAM IS BASED ON FRAUD JOINED IN WITH PHONE SCAMS . STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY WILL DESTROY YOU ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. DAVISON DOES NOT DEMONSTRATE THE CLIENTS PRODUCTS, THEY USE A SYSTEM OF WHAT THEY CALL ( CONCEPT RENDERING ) WHICH IS NOTHING MORE THAN SENDING EMAILS LIKE CHUMMING FOR FISH BEFORE YOU HOOK A GOOD ONE. WHAT DO THEY DO IN THEIR REPACKING OF MATERIALS THAT THEY CHARGE $ 365.00 FOR, AN EMAIL DOES NOT NEED REPACKAGEING.

I SWEAR TO GOD THAT ALL THAT I AM SHARING HERE IS ONE HUNDRED PERCENT TRUTHFUL

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO SUE THEM AND NEED SUPPORT FROM MY EMAILS PROVING ALL THAT I AM SAYING IS TRUE, WRITE ME AND I WILL SHARE EVERYTHING I HAVE TO PROVE MY STATEMENTS ARE NOT ONLY TRUE, BUT FACTUAL. MY MAIN PURPOSE IN THIS WRITE UP IS TO HELP THE THOUSANDS OF POTENTIAL DAVISON CLIENTS FROM MAKING THE SAME STUPID MISTAKES THAT SO MANY OF US HAS ALREADY MADE AND STOPING THEM FROM BECOMING DAVISON VICTIMS.

PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT THE VICTIMS ARE SAYING AND STOP THE MADNESS, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING, NOW LOOK ELSE WHERE FOR SUPPORT ON YOUR PROJECT ( [email protected] )
    • Well put, Ron. Sorry for your loss. My product is out there now and I am broke. They got me for around $10,000. I too hope this stops anyone considering Davison.
