7 Ways to Make Money Online

Welcome to part two of “7 Ways to Make Money Online”. Glad you’ve made it this far! Here is our continued list of make money online opportunities…

#5 Get Paid to Write…

Writing is one of the easiest ways to make money online; with the massive growth of the internet there’s never been more demand on the internet for writers. Websites are always in need of new content and they’re happy to pay for it. The best way to find at-home writing work is to become a member at some of the many freelance websites and forums specializing in this type of work.

Not only can you find short term work, but if you do well and impress your employer a small gig can often turn into long term or even permanent employment.

Another option is to submit your content to websites that offer revenue-sharing opportunities. They will provide you with the platform to host your writing on, and in return for your work, they’ll split any ad revenue that your articles generate.

With the revenue sharing option you get more leeway in the kind of content you can write and will earn a percentage (approx. 40-50%) of the ad revenue that your articles generate.

As a traditional freelance writer, you’ll bid on jobs and get paid a predetermined amount for a specific amount of work. Click here for our complete list of Writing Job Websites.

#6 Micro Jobs…

Many companies are outsourcing simple tasks that, for one reason or another, can’t be done by a computer. These “micro jobs” can range from specialized tasks to basic actions that a computer simply can’t handle, such as appropriately labeling photographs for example.

There are many routes that you can take with this type of work. If you have a skill set for specific tasks such as web-design then you don’t have to focus on just the basic jobs. There have been many huge design projects that have been done through the use of the micro job model.

Due to their success, there are quite a few websites that offer this type of work. Everything from answering a question to submitting a design, or to helping name a new product or website.

You can make money selling simple everyday photos. You don’t have to be an artist or an expert photographer to make this work. People need stock photos for their blogs, websites, presentations, and much more. Often times it’s the most basic things that they’re looking for. When someone purchases your photo you get paid a commission, it’s as simple as that.

Here’s a list of sites where you can get started: Fotolia.com, ShutterStock, and iStockphoto.

  • Great article and very helpful, I am tired of scams, this review sound very interesting.

right now a site pushing me to register, I wonder if is legit, it's called TrafficBrokers, does anyone know about this site if it's really legit, will appreciate if he shares the info.
  • I found this website because I did a search on inbox dollars when it appeared in my inbox today. I have experienced the work of scammers on the net and am very cautious. I like this site and will remember it when I research other things along with Wikipedia.

I found the information well written, informative and helpful. I only gave it a good rating at this time as I have not yet implemented any of the suggestions; I will follow up with my results at a later time.

The internet really needs more sites like this where people can find solid information and feedback from others relating their experiences. Oh, and inbox dollars has been tagged as junk and they will soon realize that as their efforts will not be read!
    • You don't have personal experience with InboxDollars, unless I misread your post. They aren't junk. You have to do more than just open emails and watch short videos if you want real money. I've received two checks from them ($53 and $70) and am nearing my third and fourth ones (I manage multiple accounts). I don't do it full time, I have a job. Just in my spare time or when I'm bored at work. I don't take many surveys anymore. I sign up for 100% free offers and trial offers and unsubscribe from them before I'm charged mostly. In my experience, those sites that offer $1 or more per survey turn you down more often than not saying you're not what they're looking for after you've gotten halfway through the survey. At least with InboxDollars you get to spin the wheel with countless prizes if you don't qualify (which rarely happens to me).

If anyone interested, please sign up through my link (see, I'm an actual user). And no, that's not the reason I'm defending them, as I'm admitting sometimes they are annoying and aren't perfect. But I've been with them on and off for about 4 years and I wouldn't if I felt it wasn't worth anything. But if i've earned this much and I'm only severely half assing it, imagine what someone could earn doing it full time?
  • I enjoyed the information about online scams and such. However, I do live in arkadelphia, arkansas and a person named kim started working online with workathomeinstitute.com and is supposed to be posting or reposting links on the internet for google and some other search engine companies. I would like to do this at home if it is legitimate. Could you please help me with this?? i'm a stay at home mom of two boys, i need help financially here.
    • Workathomeinstitute.com is a scam, do not use it. I realize its late but for anyone else that is wondering.
  • Thanks for this article,i only wish I'd read it three days Ago! I signed up for inboxdollars and for several freebies, all the questions they ask you... anyways, that was three days ago. I signed up in the middle of the night (housewife/mommy of 4, youngest has earache = mommy up ALL NIGHT). May as well try an make a little extra and hey, extra laundry soap never hurt any large family :) So, it stayed at eight am the next morning. The phone calls. I'm talking every fifteen minutes, from eight am till nine pm. If i don't answer, they hang up and call right back. Sometimes with the same number on the caller ID, SOMETIMES a number from a completely different state. If i unsubscribe, they just block the number they're calling from and Try again. I have sick kids, i didn't sign up to be harassed! Oh, it also claims you can make$$$ for taking surveys, trying products, mystery shopper, whatever. But, they all require my credit card? I may be sleep deprived but I'm not a complete moron. How hard would identity theft be, they have your address, full name, birthday, phone number, anything else they can look up online. They know your education level, the age and number of kids you have. They surely just press a button and know my credit score. Now, you wan my credit card, too. But you're not planning on posting payments to it and you're not planning on taking anything off either? They must think I'm a complete idiot. I may have to change my number, which I've had for YEARS, but maybe someone reading this will stop and not make the same mistakes i did. Seriously, soon as i block one phone number, they just call on another. They must have An INFINITE number of phone lines from all over. Some Are 800 numbers, believe it or not sometimes it's a LOCAL number even!!! I'll stop complaining now, i just don't want anyone else in this situation.
    • I appreciated reading that, khristelle...I feel your pain....I haven't changed my number and over the months the calls have started to fade out, thank God. funny what you said about the local calls!! soooo sneaky! one day it's 1-800 #s and the next day they are calling you from your own neighborhood. I answered one time and asked about that...I said Wow, you are here in Delaware?? she said No, it's an internet line, i'm in Utah....duh me, but now at least I know! I was signed up for 15 survey places. as soon as I received surveys that were more than $5.00, a credit card and purchase were always required!!! Maybe some people are OK with doing the sign up and cancel before the 7 day trial membership is over, and i'm sure if you are diligent this can be done successfully and I have certainly done my share of sign up and cancel before charge, but it's too scary nowadays and too much to keep up with and often turns into long phone calls with your credit card company filing claim disputes when the membership you cancelled in time ends up charging you $79.99...be careful and good luck!
  • I was searching for an online job for my wife.

She is a house wife now and taking care of our only son (age 2.5 years).

This webpage & the comments from others is really helpful.
  • Anything that helps people sort thru the scams and BS on the net is a real help.
  • Thanks for all of the information. It is difficult to sort through all of the scams and find any legitimate "get paid online" gigs. Two other recommendations I would make to anyone seeking to make some extra cash are Mysurvey.com and Mypoints. Now both of these are VERY slow to make anything from, but they are totally legitimate and I've been using them for years.

With Mysurvey they actually cut you checks after taking a certain amount of surveys. There are even product testing opportunities where you can keep the product free. (Why not? lol)

With Mypoints, you will be sent ads and surveys via email that you click thru to get 5 points, or you can take advantage of the offer by shopping with the merchant and have points credited. Surveys, even if you don't qualify will result in 10 points. You get points for shopping through the website at certain participating merchants (ie. 10 points per $1 spent etc). The payoff comes after accumulating a certain amount of points, you can redeem gift cards. Again, while it takes a while, I've gotten quite a few gift cards from this program over the years and it doesn't take much more than clicking a few buttons when you're bored. lol
  • thanks for all the info, seems like its true, everything on the internet is a LIE!!!
  • #7 Your list of work at home jobs, taking photos at home and selling them to these companies. These companies are a RIPOFF. I tried to sell my photos to them and they want you to create your on headline for each picture you present for sell. They claim that your pics or judged by PROS!. And they give away your photos as free photos of the day. I still get others photos in my inbox, even though I haven't sent any photos to them in over three months, because they keep telling me mine aren't good enough. I use a GE X550 Digital Camera.
  • Opinion Outpost - Signed up and been a member since February 2014 and yes they are legit. It does only survey's and they have livechat area that I have also used and I give them execellent rating because they worked with me and were always nice and helpful. I had trouble getting paid on my paypal (the verification thing) but I just sent them a statement request from paypal and it all worked out. I have cashed out several times and received numerous Amazon cards starting at a low 100 points = 10.00 and 50 points payout for free online games at Alawar.com which I also purchased 2 which were received and I have gotten. While they only have a few payout offers, they do what they say and best of all it adds up quickly. I highly recommend it. Nothing but the best and I am picky........... I hope this review is helpful to someone.
