Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • Got stung for $13000.00 a completely fraudulent company. Offers rubbish for large sums of money. You're idea will likely end up in the rubish bin!
  • Any recommendationThat I could talk to about my money that I have given Davis an invention
  • Thankfully I read a out them before any money left my hand. They have called and called relentlessly. I told them that I knew all about their scam and they started texting, emailing me constantly. A man named Gary called me today and was so arrogant, verbally abusive toward me. He called me a liar, when I told him that my idea was being under review by a manufacturing place. I almost thought he was a debt collector.

    • Sharon,

What is your experience (or relationship) with Davison? You seem to be the only one with positive things to say.
  • Best Regards to everyone in the same boat as I am...I keep reading the same complaints story after story, everyone sound as the exact same things . Only some paid more then others. Some lucky enough to stop just on time to be scamming for more. My lawyer just send me the link yesterday, and OMG am I feel so stupid and want it kick myself in the nut hard...

I’m out off over 12k on my hard earn money, my saving over the years. Just like everyone, submitted my ideas, waiting for RND to get back for my Phototypes sample...paying them every steps of the ways. Came to the point of review my sample forever. Never complete, more money only a BS Drawing and my original photo. I demand to go to them for review the sample. But they struggle to give the time. This only try to get me pay off the balance of what the contract said. I told them if I don’t see my sample, I then will give it up and hang up my call. They then keep calling me back and applozize for the delay with many excuses. They then told me Mr. Grogre Davison personally get involved with my projust and order the sample to be done in 30 days. Sound good, I paid off the balance. Spend my own time, money to flew out to Pennsylvania . They gave my the Inventionland facility tour. Everything just like Disneyland, Fancy display and High-end offices. Now I know what they do with my money. The samples didn’t come out as what I expect it to be. They also told me they had a major company Actually like my idea and want to license it. They will do the persentation to them and will let me know. I ask to be in the meeting once the time is ready, but they refused. I’m currently waiting for the results. But everything now is downhills. Every time I call and they told be is nothing have change, still waiting. Keep I though every 4 weeks.

I’m wondering what if we all get together and files a class action Lawsuit again this scammer company ? Don’t we all have enough evidence email, documents etc for this ?
    • Count us in for group lawsuit!! They scammed us for over $7000 with nothing to show for it but a drawing.
    • I'm wondering that too! They took my idea and changed everything about it. And put a picture of a famous person on the packaging, I contacted her people asked if she was affiliated with Davison, they said NO, and they where going to sue me if I didn't take her picture off of my product, her attorney started sending me emails, I submitted everything to him, he said I have a case but he wouldn't take it, but if I needed a testimony from him he would definitely give his. I told Davison, and I never heard from anyone in regards to my situation. So I had my invention sent to me. Unbelievable what I got!! A piece of wood and Velcro!!!??? Not my invention at all!!! What happened to my 12k?? I want an attorney, we need to stop this stealing company!!
    • Be glad to add our names to any suit that might be filed. Davison to date has $18,000 of our money and gave us what amounts to a child's drawing. After months of waiting, we got sent a product rendering in no way close to our invention. At NO time has Davison even attempted to listen to us about our product design. It is clear the "Director" sales person was only pushing us for a commission check. We will not sit quiet and let them have our money.
  • I now do feel like I got scammed. They definitely know how to do their job. Talk it up a lot, make you feel like your idea is something special and many companies will want it. But really, they just want the money, and will find a way to drag you along with all the hopes and dreams of the possibilities of the could be, all with a new price tag each and every step of the way.
    • Any recommendationThat I could talk to about my money that I have given Davis an invention did u receive your money back
  • Mr. Kapp is a wonderful man he actually helped me along the whole process and believe me it was long , but he called me most everyday when my Invention was in his office. Then there is Mr. Matlock and he is a very smart man who also helped me with some papers I had to get out. Thank you so much...
  • This company is not trust worthy. Take it from me. All of these clients are not lying.
  • This company is a scam. Spent over 10k to find this.
    • I feel horrible for everyone on these posts They are calling me almost daily !! I hope y’all do a class action lawsuit and get your money back That’s a lot of money I haven’t given them a dime but read these reviews and changed my mind!!! Good luck
    • Yes. A scam. They lie and try to get rich at the expense of the poor, They are selling my invention all over the world while telling me I have to pay thousands up front. This was after I already paid them about$1,400.00. This was not told to me until after I had paid what they asked for up front. Include me in a class action law suit against this fraud, Something needs to be done. I have all of my documentation, contract ect,
