Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.
Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection. Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.
Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients. Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.
From Dream to Reality
“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.
But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?
At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.
Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.
Davison Inventions Success Stories?
Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories. In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.
The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.
In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.
Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.
Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential. If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.
It is up to you on how it's dealt with.

No can do!!!!
I also got in paperwork for $12,000 to continue I refused to sign and give them more money, again their lawyer said communication closed from their side.
I never paid them more money but constantly ask for my money back. Never got it, guess he wants to buy that bigger boat !
Step One: All customers must acknowledge invention development is high risk. In order to do so, each prospective customer is provided with an Affirmative Disclosure and an American Inventors Protection Act disclosure, which includes a description of all of our services and estimated fees. All potential clients must acknowledge that they received and read these disclosures before we accept any idea submission from them. Thereby, we ensure that the general public understands that inventing is time-consuming, costly and rarely results in profit. As a result, none of our clients reasonably can have the impression that inventing is easy and financially rewarding. Inventing can be educational, fun and exciting as long as everyone keeps in mind that there are no guarantees that profits are imminent.
Step Two: Pre-Development Service Offer: After receipt of an invention idea we could offer to perform preliminary design research services on the project. This would include researching prior patents and other products that are for sale or have been for sale that are similar to the one submitted. Any service offer made to a potential client is made in writing. Therefore, consumers are assured of exactly what services they are purchasing and when they will receive them.
Step Three: Invention Prototype Services Offer: If the inventor does not have a professional quality sample for use, we can perform one or more services, including brainstorming new product designs, designing components, creating prototypes, building working models, virtual reality renderings, and complete product graphics and packaging. Again, any service offerings are outlined in a written contractual format. Therefore, clients are assured of exactly what services they are purchasing.
Step Four: Licensing Representation: Once projects are designed, built and packaged our team presents them to companies for licensing consideration
The above is a basic outline of how our company does business. Clearly, all of our services are provided with full risk disclosures and on a written contract basis only. If you are ever contemplating any development services, we hope that you will consider us. We think that you will find our prices to be very reasonable for the services we offer.
For over 20 years, we have helped people prepare and present their ideas to corporations and manufacturers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. Our exclusive idea to product method is responsible for more products on the store shelves than any other competitor in this industry.

"LEO PETRULLI, Managing Senior Director of Products, he informed me that Dan Kusic, Director of New Products, was no longer with the company so all his ability of assisting me with my financial situation was out the window.. Leo just pressured me for money almost on a daily basis, shortly thereafter I received a VERY condescending letter saying "Good Luck" you are on your own, although I am out of over $1,000.00+ dollars it could have been worse like some of these other HORROR stories I am reading. DAVISON should be ASHAMED of themselves!!!!!
Although I honestly thought I had an original idea, my own research turned up the fact that it may already be in the process of development. Davison also stated money was not an issue because they could always settle for a portion of the profits.
The end result was being sent a bill for $6,000.00 saying if I wanted to go any further I would have to pay it. I spoke to the president of the company who then referred me to a manager. The manager told me people should max out their credit cards or use food money if they had to come up with the money his company asked for. The bottom line is if you don't "you're dead in the water" were his exact words.
I have all my conversations with their smooth talking salesman documented as well as all the propaganda they sent to me of their success stories. Nor surprisingly, they're very proud of their toilet bowl bolts.
Unless you have a lot of money or investors, do not waste your time with these criminals. Even if they're not doing anything illegal according to the terms of their contract, what they do ethically is appalling.
Personally I’d like to see them sued into a national spotlight and put out of business.
If you want to sue I am with you. You can also file aa claim with your local magistrate for about $75 and can sue for a max of $8000 and they have to respond to your local area. I am thinking about do it. If we all do it they may have hundreds of law suits to deal with that might drive them out of business. But I am sure he'll be fine in his big house and a huge bank account.
I was told that the pre-development fee would get my invention/idea before a company. Well that was a lie, all I ever received was lots of hoha and propaganda. Davison makes all of their money from hard working innocent people like you and I, they leech poor people with good ideas of as much money as they can and they do it by showing and flaunting their inventionland and oversized royalty cheques on TV shows. As someone else said' they use a lot of "smoke and mirrors".
I am considering a class action lawsuit, I would be very intersted just how many people have been stung by Davison who just might be interested in joining with me.
cheers

Because the way they conduct business with a business contract it's your problem to sue them if you are not satisfied. And because it was a contract for profit they know it's hard for you to win.
Again tell as many people as you can stay away from them.
