DealCent.com

DealCent.com is a penny auction website that claims to sell brand name, factory sealed items at up to 95% discount, including in demand electronics like HD TVs and iPads.

Penny auctions are becoming more and more popular, with new sites and new users popping up everyday. Especially in a tough economy, the idea that a new TV or computer could be purchased for a fraction of the price is very attractive to people.

But if you have never used a penny auction website, you should know that there are many differences between penny auctions and regular auctions that new users should be aware of before they bid.

What to Know About Penny Auctions

First, every bid you place during a penny auction costs money. Bids at DealCent.com range from 50 cents per bid, if you purchase the largest bid pack of 500 bids, to 70 cents per bid if you purchase the smallest bid pack of only 75.

This means that if you lose a penny auction, you lose money as well. Because of this, many people have said penny auctions are more like gambling than like a traditional auction.

Another important difference is that every time a bid is placed during a penny auction, the clock is extended by a certain amount of time. This means penny auctions can go on for much longer than traditional auctions.

Make sure you have the time to participate; otherwise you may have to walk away from an item you have already invested a lot of money in.

More Concerns About Penny Auctions

With the large number of penny auction websites online, there are a wide number of complaints and issues that have arisen. These websites have been accused of everything from having bidding bots to raise prices to auctioning off merchandise they don’t actually have.

Before you commit to any penny auction website, you should search online to see what kinds of problems their customers are experiencing, if any.

What About DealCent.com?

DealCent is a very standard penny auction website. Whether or not they provide good customer service or have issues with merchandise delivery has not been established.

However, if you win an auction at DealCent.com and need to request a refund for any reason, you must do so within 7 days of receiving your item. DealCent.com will refund the final auction price you paid for the item, but the cost of the bids will not be refunded.

  • I won an ipad came with a receipt....shipping took only 2 days. I would give it 5 stars but when I called to inquire about my win the guy couldn't speak english
  • Your not gonna win anything big if u get the cheapest package always go for the $90 or up because the more bids u but the better prizes u can get..... Just my experience
  • Best $90 I Spent, I got 2 $100 gift cards
  • Just spent $90 and came close to winning but didn't if someone could post how they won it would be helpful for everyone
  • Just spent $90 and didn't win anything I think you end up wasting alot of money before you can win anything
  • I lost $90 in bids in 20 minutes but after reading up on how to win and watching youtube videos on how to win, I got me $250 bids and then used the coupon code HALFOFF which seems to only work with the 250 bid pack.

I waited till I was in bed on my lappytop to start bidding and next thing you know I won a 3d TV.. too bad I had too much adrenalin to go to sleep lol. I had bids left over so I used the same method of waiting and then I won nintendo wii u.. I won this 3 days ago and I thought it was next day shipping.. My tracking says Ill be getting it later on today.. CANT WAIT!!
  • My first experience was horrible. I bought $90 of bids didn't win anything so I called them and explained to them that it is alot of money and they can do something about it and they said they could give me 50% off on my next purchase.

So what I did was, but more bids and I did get the 50% off. Then I played it with my past experience in losing lol and I did win. I won a iPhone 4. Honestly I could not believe I won.

Anyways if anyone tries make sure you don't get out of hand. It can get addictive.
  • I tried other sites but thought I would like this even more because of the free shipping with free duties. Other sites made me pay for the shipping and duties. I won a macbook pro and even tho all the auctions claim free NEXT DAY SHIPPING and duties, I waited almost 3 weeks to get my macbook and then on top of that, I had to pay duty charges!!!

Dealcent Said they would refund the duty fees but that was 5 days ago and I still havent seen any progress.. Dealcent said the duty fees will be shown in my bank account on friday.. lets see how this goes
  • Just spent $150 and didn't win anything. I am sure there is a way but I haven't figured it out. All these penny auction sites are smart. They make you pay for the bids and make all the money from the bids because each of them cost around 50 cents. So even if you do see the price of the increasing by a penny you are actually making 50 cents per bids so imaging all the money they make from each bid.

Someone please share how you won.
  • This site is awesome! I just won an iPhone and it came factory unlocked so I was able to use it with my cell phone provider. The phone was brand new and it even came with an Apple receipt. They do have a winning limit of 2 per account and I did try creating a new account but they limit it by credit card and address lol. If anyone finds a way around this post it on here.
