GiftCardMall.com is a website and service provided by Blackhawk Network, the largest provider of third party gift cards in the US and Canada.

At GiftCardMall.com, you can purchase gift cards that may be used at over 140 different places, including clothing and accessory stores, restaurants, and service providers, amongst others. They claim that anyone can find the perfect gift in 5 minutes.

Gift cards purchased at the Gift Card Mall can be searched either by the specific retailer or by category, and can be used either online or at locations. In addition, they offer e gift cards and GiftCardMall.com Choice Cards as well.

Gift Cards and E Gift Cards

When choosing a gift card from the Gift Card Mall, you can pick the retailer, the specific dollar amount, and a personal message that will be sent along to your recipient. Some cards may even be customized with a personal image for a $1.00 charge.

But Gift Card Mall offers electronic gift cards as well, which can be emailed to the recipient with instructions for downloading and printing the gift cards. An e greeting card of your choice will be delivered along with the card.

If you create an account with GiftCardMall.com, then you will be notified both when your payment has been confirmed, and when your e gift card has been viewed by the recipient.

GiftCardMall.com also offers the Choice Card, which allows the recipient to choose their own gift card from all 140 brands carried on the site. Recipients can even request a gift card in excess of the price already paid, and cover the difference with their own credit card.

What Else to Know

Gift cards take 5 to 8 days to be shipped, unless extradited shipping is chosen. After you receive your gift card in the mail, you must go online and activate it before it can be used.

Gift Card Mall is also partnered with major grocery store chains like Jewel Osco and Safeway, so that you can find gift cards quickly and easily in your own neighborhood. Gift cards purchased at the store will be activated at time of purchase; no need to go online.

If a gift card purchased at GiftCardMall.com is lost or stolen after it has been delivered, there is nothing Gift Card Mall can do to help – gift cards are essentially the same as cash, and cannot be replaced.

But if a gift card is not delivered, or if there is another problem with your card, you must call Gift Card Mall Customer Care at (877) 426-2551.

  • all the same. I bought a $100 gift card for Safeway here in Oregon for a friend since she lives a few hours from me. I received a cancellation email and then an invoice. This didn't make any sense to me, so I called a representative. They, Alex was the name used, couldn't explain why the purchase was randomly canceled. The charge, as of right now, is pending on my credit card account, but the minute I'm charged I'm disputing it. Do not be scammed.
  • Thank goodness I only spent $10.50 in an egift card for a major fast food chain, which I only bought because I was trying to fill out gas points on my Kroger grocery account. I received an email and could print out the voucher, with card number. On attempting to use it, I was told by the restaurant worker (after she tried entering the card number) that it wouldn't work, and she could not complete the order. I tried getting help through Kroger's national service, which didn't work for various reasons (not for lack of folks there trying), so I started trying to find help through Gift Card Mall, and/or Blackhawk network. The web form I found (they offered no phone number or email address for contacting them) would not work, it would not send the message through. It is only on this page, now, in the small print that I found a phone number meant to reach Gift Card Mall. I just called it, and, after too much time, was told that there is nothing anyone there can do to help me about this. They are the ones who took my money, but apparently that doesn't matter to them. Meanwhile, I'm hoping something useful will come of all the time I then spent trying to get help from the restaurant chain itself. What a mess. Just insane.

    now I am going to have to call the card and tell them I have been scammed by a bot!

    • I made similar mistake. Was checking on gift card balance, mistakenly wound up at this site. Wasn't paying attention. Now my balance is zero. Only $10 was spent and it was spent at DAVIDFORYOUS.COM

  • This has been a terrible transaction for me. I ordered a $300 voucher and the link that came in did not work. I wanted to use that voucher the same day to get a gift card to buy something. I went to the website to send a cancellation request in. No one has ever contacted me about it. I called the same day and the agent who assisted me said he'd put in a ticket with tech support and that they would contact me because they don't have phones. Again, no one contacted me. I called again 4 days later and the agent at the time said there is a no return policy after the item is shipped. Shipped? its an e-card! unless i can navigate through your website at light speed there is no way to put in a cancellation before it's "shipped". So the agent escalated to get a refund. I still have not heard back from anyone. This is a SCAM.
  • I’m convinced that Gift Card Mall and Blackhawk Network are not real companies. My husband purchased a $500 Visa gift card from the Pavillions grocery store. I had it for no more than a few days before someone stole the card info and wiped out everything but $2. It’s important to note the card NEVER left my possession and was still in full packaging – it hadn’t even been opened before the balance was gone.

    I followed the necessary channels and reported the card stolen with Gift Card Mall’s dispute agency, Blackhawk Network. They told me it would take 45-90 days from the time the case was opened (March 11, 2017) to complete the investigation.

    Issue #1: On March 23 I received a letter from Blackhawk Network requesting additional documentation to support my claim. The letter stated I had 10 business days from the letter’s date to provide additional paperwork or the case would be considered resolved and closed. The letter was dated March 13 but wasn’t mailed until March 20th (yup, I checked the postmark). By the time I received the letter in the mail on March 23, the 10-day deadline was nearly up. I called the next day (March 24) and spoke to a customer service rep who told me I had until midnight to submit the additional paperwork or the case would be closed. I dropped everything and submitted the documents requested via email on Fri., March 24 at 10:36pm.

    Issue #2: I followed-up to see how the investigation was going on May 14, knowing that Blackhawk Network should’ve be nearing the 45-90 day timeline they allot for investigations. The customer service rep told me they never received the additional paperwork they requested and therefore my claim was not in-process. Per their request, I resent the paperwork and was told it’d require an additional 45-90 days to process.

    Issue #3: On May 24 I followed-up again and this time was told they hadn’t received my resubmission. I quickly bypassed the customer service rep and spoke directly with the manager. The manager apologized profusely, asked me to resend the paperwork to the email address I’d sent it to twice previously, and reassured me she’d personally call me the very next day to follow-up. I did exactly as she asked and waited on her call the next day. Never heard from her again.

    Issue #4 A few days later, I received a letter dated May 25th saying the cardholder dispute services department was still not in receipt of the requested documentation and therefore my case was considered invalid and no further action would be taken.

    Resolution: We contacted our credit card company and reported the Blackhawk Network purchase as fraudulent since it was clear Blackhawk Network had no intention of returning our money. Thank goodness for Mastercard! They quickly began the investigation process to verify fraud. When I made Blackhawk aware of this, they asked me to resend everything (yes, again), and what do you know, less than a week later they decided to return our funds. It took 3 months of relentless emailing and calling, and I’m convinced had Mastercard not stepped in to launch and investigation of their own, we never would've seen that $500 again. Let this be a warning, Gift Card Mall and Blackhawk Network is a SCAM. The fact that we were finally able to chase down our money and I still filed a BBB report should tell you everything you need to know. Do not buy a gift card from them, not even if you purchase it from a reputable store.
  • DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I purchased a $500 gift card from Nordstrom and was told I would receive the gift card via email hopefully within 24 hours. Over 72 hours later after they had charged my card I still have not received the gift card or a follow-up that I had even purchased the gift card. I contacted them several times via email and telephone to no avail. Today I asked them to cancel the card and they said it could take 15 business days to get a refund on my account. Do not work with this company.

    • I have not personally purchased from them, but reading these reviews, how in the world does this company have an A+ rating on BBB, with 3.7 star rating (out of 5), when it has 98% negative reviews, 0 positive reviews, and 704 complaints?!?! Something is NOT right about that.

  • SCAM!! Do not use.
  • Can't get in touch with them. Did not ship as stated. Hasn't yet been charged to my acct, but will be disputed when & if it is charged. Won't be doing business with them again.
    • They did charge and ship my order, but can't get the card activated. This people are not serious. I will dispute the transaction.
  • Useless customer service. The cards ordered were not processed and in fact one design was denied. I have an email saying it would be sent Dec 6th and today is the 13th. The cards were not even made yet... I was not notified of any delay or denial. The "customer service" rep said the were to busy to notify me....What, too busy? How is that even close to an excuse....DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!
