Pinecone Research, found online at PineconeResearch.com, is a market research company that compensates people for becoming a member of their website and filling out online surveys.
Online market research is one of the oldest and most popular ways to earn money online as it doesn’t really require much time or effort; people simply sit and answers questions about how they spend their time, shop for products, choose services, or whatever the survey may be about.
To sign up as a Pinecone Research member, you will need to email their Customer Service team or be invited by an existing member. There does not appear to be open enrollment at this time.
How It Works
If you are able to sign up as a member, this survey company does not operate like others you may have seen. Instead of signing into a membership dashboard each day and seeing what surveys are available, this company will actually email you when there is a survey they want you to take.
Their website says that their surveys generally take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete and once you are done you will be rewards with points. These points are then transferrable for either cash which can be transferred to your PayPal account or they can redeemed for different prizes.
First time members will need to accumulate 300 points, at which time their website will automatically send a paper check to your home. Customers will need to process this check themselves as a type of identity verification; once this first check is processed, members will be able to choose how their future points are processed.
Finally this company also gives their survey members the ability to join a sweepstakes where they can win large cash prizes.
Are They Legit?
The most important features to look for in an ethical online market research company is that they do not charge their members any fees to join or receive surveys and that they provide their members with a low enough payout minimum that they are actually able to get compensation for their efforts.
Pinecone Research does not charge members any membership fees and their minimum cash out – after the initial 300 point accumulation – is only $1.00. This appears to be a very reasonable cash out minimum.
That being said, market research members who have worked with this company for years have complained about their switch from direct cash compensation to the point system, saying this prolongs the payment process. In addition, because this company only emails their customers certain surveys at certain times, customers don’t have as much control over their earning power as they do at other market research companies.
However, that doesn’t mean that prospective members should avoid this company, just that they will probably want to sign up at other companies as well, so they have as many earning options as possible.
