SnagAJob.com

SnagAJob.com is a job search website that helps connect people with jobs in their area. Once you’ve reviewed the jobs available and identified ones that interest you, you can create a profile on Snag A Job and apply directly to the job from the website.

You can also post your profile to be viewed, so employers can contact you if they feel you are qualified to fill a position. In this way, SnagAJob.com claims to be similar to other job finding websites such as CareerBuilder.com or Monster.com.

Snag a Job provides a range of job types, from warehouse inventory jobs to higher level jobs that require further education or experience. SnagAJob.com also provides information on degree programs for people looking to improve their job finding chances.

So is SnagAJob.com Legit or a Scam?

First and foremost, many of the jobs available on SnagAJob.com are legitimate, and they may have helped connect members with them. But you’ll also notice that on their list of available jobs, there are many jobs offered from online opportunities like paid survey companies.

Most people that are signing up at an online job database are looking for more traditional jobs that come with a steady paycheck, as opposed to online business or supplemental income opportunities. If you receive one of these offers after signing up with SnagAJob.com, make sure to investigate the company before investing any money.

In addition, according to their Full Privacy Policy, they provide your contact information to partner companies and third party companies in order to contact you with advertisements or special offers they think you might be interested in based on your site activity.

If you do not want to be contacted by these companies, you can try to change your Snag a Job profile to more accurately reflect the types of emails you would like to receive, but you may also choose to set up a separate email account to deal with the communication you receive from them.

  • DO NOT USE THEM FOR HIRING EMPLOYEE'S

They are overly aggressive until you sign the contract and then you can NOT get a phone call back from them no matter what time/day you call them or how many messages you leave. (I have been trying for 3 weeks now)

The quality of the employee has been average, but the quality assurance tests that they use has NO physiological basis to it and does not truly reflect the type of employee that you are going to get. We have a high turnover business and have found this service to not change our turnover rate or quality of employee in the slightest. We are going back to craigslist to find employee's (not great, but at least it was free)
  • I put my resume on this website and was advised that a company was interested in me for hire. I was excited but only found out that the company was a scam and was almost out of 3000.000. This website I would think would have done a complete background ck on the companies that they are doing business with, the company that almost scammed me was

World Networking Services International. They did the entire interview on line and of coarse they hired me, they then sent me money, which they wanted me to used 2 different Western Union locations. After contacting my bank and they researched the company and found the ck they sent was bogus. Very disappointed but yet relieved that I didnt follow thru and wire the money. Anyone getting a email with the named David Benitod as the contact STAY AWAY. he is a scam artist.
    • I like your comment about background checks for companies. Not a bad idea. Maybe you should start a company that does background checks on companies! That would help us job seekers out! lol
  • Snag a jobs postings for the most part are outdated ive applied for a cpl of positions and found from the hiring managers themselves that those positions had been filled months prior to our conversation...smh i wouldnt waste my time with snag a job..
    • i got hired off the site. Ross department store uses it. so it worked out great for me. maybe you just don't have what employers are looking for
  • Snagajob is a joke. DO NOT use it.
  • They asked me about my social security, so I think is very private information that I do not want to share in the web application.
    • If you were applying with a paper application and it asked for your SSN you would provide it without thinking twice, would you not? Sure you would, because you know an incomplete application will not get you a job. If you don't prefer to put this information into a secure website, perhaps you should start looking for jobs the old-fashioned way.
  • I saw a job I was interested in on snagajob.com I clicked on "apply now" and was requested to provide address, phone and pass word on an unsecure site. So I googled the company and found nothing on them except more opening on snag a job. I would not use snag a job.com.
  • Selected "NO" for third part contacts. I was bare finished with the supposed application and I received a rejection from them stating You are 15 miles away from this job site." So... I can't get a job 15 miles away? Anyway... As soon as I clicked 'finish,' it wasn't 30 seconds and I started receiving solicitations for schools, loans, help with jobs, etc. THIS ALL STARTED AT 8:10 pm! Snagajob is a SCAM!
  • doesnt really work. I think it is on auto post or something...same places hiring for months and months? if you see a company listed go directly to there website and apply. half the time they arent even hiring (if they list job openings). I even called a few and they said they were not looking for any one. get it together snags.
  • Have filled out many, many applications and not a single one resulted in a response. They post listings for branches of companies that don't exist according to the company website, and many times I've applied for something, not hearing back from them but immediately getting emails notifying me of new positions AT THE COMPANY I JUST APPLIED TO.

    Don't bother with it.
  • In order to qualify me for the job I applied to, they asked for my date of birth. They actually used that as a qualifier for the job.

This is illegal. I don't know if it's a scam or not but they ask for way too much information. It makes me suspect that this is a site that is only there to steal my personal information. BEWARE!
    • I agree with everyone about the date of birth requirement; definitely illegal. I hope someone does contact the ACLU; I'm thinking of contacting some of the companies that are "using" the site as an employment tool as well as some governmental agencies.

    • Website site is not http secured, why would anyone give them any info? even if a site is http secured, you still dont know where they sending your information, every job i have got was by getting off my butt and looking for it. people to lazy to look for work should be scammed , lol, easy way out never works. with gps in our phones, internet connections to our homes, if someone really needs to find you it is no problem, oh, turning off gps system on your phone makes it diffucult for other subscribers to find you, but that doesnt pertain to the data bases at the corporate end! So, remember to put all your family pics on facebook, let them know where your from, how long you been there as well as leaving messages where your going t be going that day! Geez, wake up america
    • RIGHT - why do they need my exact date of birth right from the get-go. That is illegal. From the text on the page it appears they imply that they need to make sure you are at least 18 years old. WHY? Can a 17 year old not get a job? Besides - if you upload a resume that shows you have been working for however many ump-teen years how could that be an issue?

I've written to them. But I am also thinking of contacting the ACLU.
