SwagBucks.com

According to their website, SwagBucks.com is a “loyalty program” where you can earn prizes for doing the same stuff you do online everyday.

Shopping, watching videos, searching for products, playing games; all of these things and more can earn you prizes with the Swagbucks system.

How Does Swagbucks Work?

It may be confusing to understand why a company would pay you to just do “anything” online. But companies understand that the average American actually spends quite a lot of time on the internet, and that what people do online says a lot about their interests, habits, likes and dislikes.

If companies know what kinds of games people play or what kinds of products and advertisements catch their attention, it goes a very long way towards helping companies understand how to better reach their target market.  Companies all over are discussing the benefits of understanding exactly how and why we do the things we do online.

So, Swagbucks will give you prizes in exchange for “doing what you already do online” because they are taking that information and providing it to others, who will use it to change and influence the way they do business online in the future.

What Is a “Swagbuck”?

Swagbucks, unlike other pay to search sites, does not compensate their members with money.  Instead, they give them various amounts of points, called Swagbucks, for the tasks and activities they do online.  At any point in time after you have begun collecting these Swagbucks, you can go to the Swag Store and exchange them for items.

One of the issues with Swagbucks is that they do not maintain a set rate of pay for activities.  The pay changes as certain demands for information changes.  However, keep in mind that you are still simply getting paid for activities you would be doing regardless, so though it may be frustrating, it’s still not a bad deal.

You also have the option of turning your Swagbucks into cash, but customers report that you get less bang for your Swagbuck when you make this choice.  It takes more Swagbucks to get cash paid directly into a PayPal account then it does to simply redeem them for a gift card of the exact same value.  This goes back to Swagbucks’ partnership with various companies, but luckily for their members these partners tend to be large vendors like Amazon.com and Wal-Mart, places where you are likely to spend your money anyway.

Tips for Earning with Swagbucks

  1. Take advantage of the referral system.  When you refer someone, Swagbucks will reward you with matched earnings up to 1,000 points.  The more people you refer, the easier and faster you’ll rack up Swagbucks.
  2. When you use the Swagbucks search, be normal.  Swagbucks is recording your searches, and if you are continuously entering gibberish like “aldkjfa;ldkj” and hitting the search button, you won’t be a member for long.
  3. Take advantage of the Swagbucks “extras.” Once a day, they’ll have special offers for you to look at that will take a couple seconds. Or submit poll ideas.  If yours is chosen, you earn more.
  4. Use their toolbar, and better yet, use Swagbucks.  For everything.  The whole point of the system is that they want to know what you are doing online.  The more you use it, the more they benefit, and the more you will earn.

  • I have yet to ask for a payout, but I've found earning the swagbucks to be pretty painless. A friend signed me up. I'm looking forward to the first payout, but I've also seen amazing trailers to movies that I wouldn't have seen without the mobile app.

I often get disqualified for surveys, but I also understand that they are looking for a select group of people, so I don't get too upset about that.

I did notice that quite a few people here have commented on the fact that they weren't getting credited for purchases, but I also took the time to read the fine print on the purchases. Most of the time, your credits only apply to certain items or departments. I'm okay with not being credited for everything. I've downloaded a couple of games that didn't credit me, but a couple of screenshots later, the credits were processed. I have had no bad experiences with them.
  • I just lost all my earned SB without any reason! Stay away from this website! It will waste your time without making a penny!
  • I did several surveys and put my presences in but didnot recieve my points. I just kept getting one swag buck when it says a different number 22 on one and 29 on the other. First it said I was disqualified because using my iPad? Huh.. no points there then I did the 2 surveys and zero points and I was extremely honest. A rip off in my opion.
  • I just joined Swagbucks in October on a Casino Slots game where I was promised 408 "charms" plus 8 Swagbucks. Ha, received NO "Charms" for games and have 4 Swagbucks with a notice in my email "You are going to lose your 4 SB. Hurry, act now!" No hurry. Delete!
  • I have been using this site for nearly a year now, and have earned over $750 in giftcards - including paypal, which i can transfer to my bank account! Do I earn a lot each month, no. It it worth doing surveys, watching videos, and such while I am on hold, watching TV, ect? yes.
  • Was disappointed that when I earned my 5000 in swagbucks, they would not help me get my account verified. I had checked with Paypal, and they said my account was verified with them. So why wouldn't customer service with Swagbucks, go ahead and verify my account? I decided to redeem my points with a Walmart card, and I was able to get it in 2 days. I would like to see Swagbuck's customer service team, work a little harder in helping their customers achieve their rewards.
  • I've used Swagbucks off and on for roughly two years and made over $45. I like it, since there are many options to make money. Surveys, polls, watching videos, and even by playing games. However it takes commitment to get a good amount and the money you earn is only online currency such as Ebay, Amazon, Nike, etc. Overall i like it. One more thing, i have gotten a couple of viruses before so make sure you clean your history and use anti-virus software.
  • So far, as a newby to Swag Bucks, I've found them to be as good as their word. The only thing is that I've completed a lot of offers where I actually paid for a product and have not been awarded my swag bucks. The same goes for many offers I've completed and still no acknowledgement of my SB's. When you contact swag bucks customer support, it is as though they have no knowledge of your swag bucks site movements and I've not gotten anywhere with them so far regarding getting the SB's I've earned. They suggest contacting the company that partnered with them for the swag bucks offer, but in my case with EX. Just Fab, they denied having any connection to Swag Bucks. But, once again as a newcomer I'm happy I found them.
    • Joe: Swagbucks does work and I have been a member for 9 yrs. If you try and cheat the system you will loose out.

If you constantly change answers to your survey's you will be denied them.

If you do not read all the fine print to an offer you may do them wrong which will result in no credit. Many do not read and loose.

With all offers and whatever your having trouble with, SCREEN SHOT it.. everytime.. This way you have something to show them.

I have reported problems with no results. Since I have sent in screen shots with time and date from my screen with proof of problem, I have been compensated for the points of offers that did not credit.

I do not however do any offers that request my personal information. I do not shop through the site either. My main way of using my sb's is by paypal.

So If you do not read EVERYTHING For the offers and find you did not get credit. Go back and R E A D.. It works.

They are not perfect, there are problems and things I do not like, over all its an ok place to earn some extra when I am able to.
    • I'm confused by your review.......you start off by saying you find them to be as good as their word, and then you go on to say they ripped you off numerous times and won't bother helping you when you ask and just give you the runaround.

So why the 4 stars and why are you happy with them? How can you be happy with a company that is ripping you off?!

No wonder shit companies like Swagbucks can stay in business. I was genuinely confused, but if people like you are giving good reviews while getting ripped off.....................

      smh :(
  • I've done swagbucks for years and it's been good. I don't make a lot, $25 a month but it's something. The last two months I've had a problem getting my rewards, they say the email was sent but I never got it. I got the email last month finally but have written three times this month to support because the same thing happened. I have a theory the email was never really sent and that's why I cannot resend it to myself. I saw that a new outfit was doing the rewards now & I am wondering if they are messing up. Other than not getting my rewards easily, I LIKE Swagbucks, I don't do surveys much because as others said you end up getting told u don't qualify or ..........
  • I found Swagbucks while completing an offer on Pogo through Peanuts Labs. It was an offer to enroll with SB and earn 500 bucks to receive 168 gems to use on Pogo. Sounds easy peasy right? Wrong I enrolled on Sep 1st. earned in excess of 500 turned a ticket to Pogo as I was never credited. To dat I have turned in 4 tickets to Pogo, have written to Swagbucks so called customer service at least 3 times, posted on their Facebook wall and even wrote the head office an email about this. All to no avail. Pogo and Peanut Labs (zendesk) state they cannot credit me the gems because SB will not verify that I even opened an account or met the requirements. Seems to me they have NO customer service and could care less about the members they have so big deal this is one less for them I'm sure I won't be missed.
    • From reading the reviews to here it sounds like Swagbucks is doing nothing for their partners, or the consumers who sign-up. Though I am a little skeptical of any company who would get their consumers this way.
    • sounds like a Pogo/Peanut labs problem, not swagbucks
