Volusion is a company that claims to be able to help your online store solve their ecommerce problems.
From shopping cart services to tech support to templates to better your website layout, Volusion wants to help with it all. The company offers a 14 day free trial for anyone curious about using their software and their services.
Volusion was founded by Kevin Sproles, who originally set out to create an effective, affordable shopping cart solution. The company has since expanded and offers a variety of packages with different features and benefits.
The packages begin at $19/month for the most basic features, and go all the way to $149/month for their most inclusive package. If you already have an online store but are dissatisfied with your current shopping cart service, Volusion will help you transfer over to their service.

Including an SSL certificate and "premium" support.
From the beginning nothing seemed to go well. It was hard to use software and not user friendly. The templates were dreadful and the design of them even worse with weird banner landing pages and funny looking menus and to customize them - what a joke!
I finally canceled my plan after learning how "easy" adding products was - wow !!! Individually that is and I have 2000 T-shirts in multiple variations !!
After calling to cancel which they can't do . One has to go back into their nightmare software abs close it yourself
And in creation of the ticket to do so . Time passes and I was informed they couldn't refund my monthly service as it was midway through ! It was the 1st. It was the first day and of actually done this the day before but it counts when you get a response. The account manager and her curt patronizing tone offer that they're there to help was just more injury to insult as she explained how they don't do refunds and I was in the middle of a term and whether I ever used the software at all was irrelevant.
That $30 will buy them the most negative reviews and unhappy customer tales.
Do not choose Volusion. It's crappy software and lousy customer cares make them a poor choice !
I manage 3 Volusion sites and all are making good on the company's promises.
I do have a Magento based one that includes more asset management but if you read the "what's included"with your package and of course don't rely on sales people who lie for a living everywhere, then you probably will end up more with what you expect.
Sure the cart functions, and the admin area is "pretty" but cart additions are complicated and clunky - and unless you pay for more than their basic package (up to 500 items) you have NO way to upload or DOWNLOAD your cart information data. If you want support or static pages on the site adding finding and editing them through their 'article' system is like finding a needle in a haystack - nearly impossible for computer challenged clients to update (which is the whole point of going with a cms system) and their tinymce page editors are too simplistic and limited in features. What's worse is if you choose to code back and forth between the html and txt tags it looses or rewrites the hand code.
The don't give you any access to your root ftp or sql areas.
I also just discovered tonight that their 301 redirect system doesn't allow for query string URLs which is what my old card was built in - destroying the QR code functionality on all of the product packaging we have.
Their help and training pages are what I would call "fluffy" and a good number of the videos are outdated to the content they are referring to - including reviewing features that are no longer available to some users.
If you have the base packages you are only allowed to use the email and chat features, and that takes me 45min on average and the support people pretty much just turn around and send you to a help page URL. The can't/won't help with any design issues as well refering you to one of their design associates who are basically doing the same job I am capable of - if I could just get a straight answer.
NEVER again will I recommend this platform to a client.
