Cardpool.com

Cardpool.com, established in 2009, allows people to buy or sell gift cards in one of the largest and fastest growing gift card exchanges on the internet today.

Unlike other gift card exchanges, Cardpool buys gift cards directly from you, which gives them the ability to verify the balance and authenticity of the card, and then holds it until someone wishes to purchase it from them.

They purchase gift cards at up to 92% of their value, and sellers will receive their payment within 24 hours of when Cardpool.com receives the gift card.

Those looking to buy cards from Cardpool.com will find a large variety available at up to 35% off. All gift cards are shipped USPS first class and arrive within 3-7 days. Electronic gift cards will be emailed within 24 hours of purchase.

Cardpool.com does not charge any taxes, fees, or shipping costs, so the advertised price of the card is the only price you pay.

  • I recently tried to use a Carpool Gift Card that my wife gave me. Three days after placing the order and contacting customer service, I was informed that my order was denied. After learning that I am unable to use my Cardpool Gift Card, I asked that Cardpool refund the money on the Gift Card since they will not allow me to use it on their site, and they are refusing. When I repeatedly asked for help, their Customer Service kept sending me generic messages that do not answer my questions, and now they ignore all my requests. I have lost money (I have a gift card I cannot use!), and they are refusing to assist in any way. Their customer service is horrendous. I am so frustrated with the way my situation was handled, and will not conduct business with Cardpool again.
  • I had the same experience many of you did. Sent a restaurant gift card this past July in exchange for an Amazon gift card, and....still waiting.

They supposedly never received the card I mailed using *their* pre-paid mailing label with *their* packing slip inside with my name, address, transaction number.

Wow, that's a whole bunch of us who the post office supposedly lost their packages!

Anyway, I made a complaint to the California Attorney General's office (very easy to do online) and am writing this review to not only warn others, but also encourage everyone who was taken by this company to do the same.
    • This happened to me with an ELECTRONIC gift card. they took my card from me electronically, said my check was in the mail and will arrive in 3-5 days, and weeks later I have not received my payment and they are ignoring all of my emails. Complete scam.
    • File a complaint with the bbb it will hit them harder. Good luck
  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. After placing an order over a week ago for an electronic gift card, they just called me to "verify" my information. The person doing this verification was extremely rude, and frankly, I do not think questions like "what cross street are you near", and "what is the telephone number for your credit card" are necessary at all. When have you ever had to give that information to place an order? I hesitantly gave them my information, and still have not received the electronic gift card I purchased from them over a week ago, and cannot get in touch with anyone over the phone. Never mind that the item I initially wanted is no longer in stock, and the gift card is useless to me. It states on their site with regards to electronic gift cards that:

"We'll typically email you with your electronic or mobile gift cards within 1 business day. During peak holiday periods, please allow 1 additional business day for processing transactions and also consider the USPS holiday delivery schedule."

My credit card has been charged, and no one is giving me any information regarding my order. Between the sketchy verification process (that everyone seems to go through), the horrible customer service, to the fact that it's been over a week and I still haven't received an _electronic_ gift card - AGAIN, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM CARDPOOL.COM.
  • they canceled transaction w/o valid reason - what kind of risk you seeing? I often buy cards from another website (..zen.com), never NEVER had ever ANY issues buying online with my card, making dozens transactions a months, what a nonsense..but whatever..just means that your risk team really sux
  • Ordered TJ Maxx physical gift card. Order when through fine. Received the card 6 business days later. No problems.
    • Why would you want a gift card for those blood-soaked monsters? They support the military--something no DECENT HUMAN would ever condone. Be ashamed.
  • Admittedly, I've never sold a gift card to them, but I've made dozens of purchases over the years and I've only had one issue. I had one gift card arrive with a zero balance and they quickly refunded my purchase.

I will continue to buy from cardpool and save money!
  • My bank account was compromised after a purchase of a gift card. Cannot say it was hack or from within the company but many fraudulent charges were made within miles from the company address and just off the same highway in California. Coincident? Through my research, I think not!! DO NOT WALK BUT RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. I'm left with a headache to deal with for a little bit of savings that's not worth it.
  • NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Their advertisement is a scam! You do not get any funds when selling your gift cards online. They do not transfer your funds electronically. You can not speak with anyone by phone!!!! Bibb endorses this company according to the internet but I don't believe that. Don't be a fool and use cardpool.
  • I have attempted twice to buy a gist card from them. I like the idea of the site and was looking forward to saving a few bucks. The first time I waited over a week and had to reach out to them about my order. They told me there was an error & they would not be processing it. I was aggravated but willing to give it another try a few months later to buy another card. This time I waited 24 hours & received an email that they would not be processing my order. Both times I was using a new user coupon code, so I am thinking that's why-but they never gave me any actual information so I don't know for sure. If that is the case then why do they even have a new user coupon if they are going to deny the order every time? I don't know if I am going to bother trying again...at this point they are just wasting my time.
    • I have tried to purchase gift cards twice, and both times they cancelled my order and said it was due to "risk". I emailed them to ask why, and they replied that their security service evaluates the purchases--they don't know how. I have given up on this company--they do not need my business, apparently!
  • Referral rewards suck

Was not able to card initially. Had to get support to get them activated adn so on before getting to use it.

Most of the transactions are cancelled with a robotic answer "Our risk assessment team has determined that we aren't able to process your order at this time. We've gone ahead and cancelled order and your credit card has not been charged for the order."

Referral rewards suck: Used the referral reward in one of the transaction and it was cancelled by the assessment team. The referral reward is marked as used and support team is not willing to issue another one.
