Cardpool.com

Cardpool.com, established in 2009, allows people to buy or sell gift cards in one of the largest and fastest growing gift card exchanges on the internet today.

Unlike other gift card exchanges, Cardpool buys gift cards directly from you, which gives them the ability to verify the balance and authenticity of the card, and then holds it until someone wishes to purchase it from them.

They purchase gift cards at up to 92% of their value, and sellers will receive their payment within 24 hours of when Cardpool.com receives the gift card.

Those looking to buy cards from Cardpool.com will find a large variety available at up to 35% off. All gift cards are shipped USPS first class and arrive within 3-7 days. Electronic gift cards will be emailed within 24 hours of purchase.

Cardpool.com does not charge any taxes, fees, or shipping costs, so the advertised price of the card is the only price you pay.

  • I have bought numerous gift cards from cardpool over the last few weeks. I have a fairly large purchase I want to make near term and I thought I would use this method to reduce the cost some. Some of the orders go through without a hitch. The card has the balance it is supposed to and worked when used. But quite a few orders just get cancelled due to risk assessment. They refuse to give you a reason why and just suggest you do another order. They tell you the cancellation does not prevent the next order from going through. But that's all they will say. It is frustrating to deal with them and if I could find enough cards elsewhere I would never order again. I have never seen a company with so little care for a customer.
  • i was a little nervous after i read the reviews(after i sold my giftcard) and yes there is no phone number and it took awhile for a response from them after i emailed them but, i received my check in my mailbox exactly one week after selling it to them online. maybe these bad reviews are old and maybe they improved since then. but my experience was perfect
  • A bit doubtful this was legit but I tried anyway. Purchased an E-Cert for Olive Garden received the email with the card and used it same day. Worked perfect, no questions. Already made another purchase and can't wait to use it.
  • I wish I looked for reviews before "selling" (giving basically) my gift cards to them. :(
  • I have literally purchased over $15,000 in Cardpool Gift Cards. I love the Cardpool App for my iPhone that stores my gift cards electronically. I have saved over $5300 over the last few years. It really helps me stay on budget. I buy one gas card a month, a clothing card, grocery card, dining cards, very simple to order and use.

The only hiccup I have ever seen is that when I use an electronic gift card at a few stores like New York & Co. , Anthropologie, maybe a couple of others I can not think of right now, there is some confusion on whether it is a merchandise return card or a gift card. There are different numbers of digits to let you know if it is a gift card or merchandise card. The store cashier always has trouble and it can be annoying having to educate them on the difference between merchandise credit and a gift card.

Crate and Barrel is awesome because you can enter your own card numbers at the check out. Pier 1 is able to scan the telephone app with their scanner gun for easy processing.

Overall I give them an 8 out of 10 for ease of use, value, and variety.
  • Stay away from this company! I'd bought a Gamestop Gift Card on January 04, 2017. It's January 17, 2017 and have not receive the gift card. I've sent 3 emails to their customer service. I have yet to get a response. I will be file a credit card purchase dispute with them. I will also file a complaint with the California Attorney General Office.
    • I am experiencing something similar and am hoping to resolve it thru their customer service. But will do the same and you mentioned if I am unable to get resolution.
  • Do not deal with these POS's. They lie and cheat you big time. They are a bunch of filthy scumbags who will rip you off. I sold them a $100 gift card from Macy's almost a year ago and was never paid.
  • It took a little longer than advertised, but I received the Amazon credit I was promised in exchange for the gift card. I created my Cardpool account, entered my gift card info, and accepted their offer on Saturday 12/17/16. I mailed out the gift card to Cardpool regular USPS first class mail, no tracking, on Monday 12/19/16. I live about 250 miles away from their mailing address so it shouldn't have taken more than 2 or 3 days tops to get there, and I was expecting the Amazon credit to arrive before Christmas. The morning of Friday 12/30/16, I hadn't heard anything so I sent an email to their support. I immediately received an automated reply letting me know they were on a modified schedule due to the holidays and that they would get back to me. At 3:31am Sunday 1/1/17, I received an automated reminder email stating they hadn't received my gift cards yet. By now I was worried, but decided to be a little more patient given that things can get a little off-schedule during the holidays. At 9:51am Wednesday 1/4/17, I received an automated email stating that they had received my gift card. At 2:49pm Wednesday 1/4/17, I received an automated email stating that they had processed my gift card and that my Amazon credit was ready. I promptly redeemed the code Cardpool provided with Amazon and the full credit that was promised was added to my Amazon account.
  • I sold a Target gift card with them last Wednesday.

It has now been over a week and a half.

They have my card, I don't have my money.

I selected that it be handled via amazon giftcard.

Faqs say it should take an hour... obviously the faqs are mistaken.

I've sent them three emails and haven't gotten a single (non-automated) response yet.

I keep reading that this company is legit but so far everything about this transaction has been very, very unprofessional.
  • So I bought a JCPenney gift card today for a pretty good deal $30.81 for $22.50 (that was with their current promo running code) So that was great now 30 minutes later I was wondering where the electronic gift card was and they sent a email wanting me to confirm the order and my link didn't work so I went to google and typed in CardPool order verification phone number and saw a number (415) 419-8787 and this is where is all turned around. Guy that answered was very professional he said he just had a few questions to verify my identity, odd question but ones that I would only know so that was reassuring. I do appreciate the level of security they obviously offer but I do think it may be to much especially for those used to other discount card websites. After the phone call he said he would put my order to processing and that I would receive my gift card within 24 hours about 3 hours later I received my gift card and was able to make the purchase I wanted from JCP for a steal! Overall I would use them again. That phone number though was probably a big factor in my transaction going smoothly. Hope it and this review can help you out! Thanks
