Davison Inventions

Davison Inventions (www.InventionConcept.com) is a company that claims to take people’s ideas of new inventions, and turn them into reality. Davison says that it will take your idea through all the steps necessary to get your invention onto the market, from research and development to licensing to getting it onto the shelves.

Davison’s website claims that you have the ability to submit your idea to them knowing that you have full confidentiality and protection.  Once your idea is submitted, you will receive a one on one consultation about the viability of your idea, and whether or not you should begin the process to take your idea further.

Davison claims to have a variety of agreements available for potential clients.  Some services they offer will require you to pay one time, up front fees, while others will require you to commit to an agreement where Davison receives a percentage of royalties from your invention.

From Dream to Reality

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.” From the time that man created fire, there has been an innate desire to come up with better ways of doing things. If you take a minute to look around you, at the things we take for granted every day, you’ll see the evidence of people’s invention dreams that came to life.

But, unlike the picture painted in Hollywood films, most of these inventions weren’t created in someone’s basement and then magically appeared on the market. Inventions must go through an intense process of research and development – is it truly an original invention? Is there someone else out there with a comparable idea or existing product? Is this invention already in the works?

At times an idea must be patented, which can be an expensive and complicated process. After that, an invention must often be licensed to another company or corporation to produce and distribute, because individuals usually lack the money necessary to fund the actual supply of product needed for the market.

Davison Inventions claims to help you through this long, arduous process, and to get your invention on the shelves of major retailers like Target, WalMart, Home Depot, and others.

Davison Inventions Success Stories?

Well, the truth is that when you research Davison Inventions, you are going to hear much more about heartbreak and failure than you will about success stories.  In fact, Davison was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution to former clients after they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission and lost.

The lawsuit determined that clients of Davison would often pay upwards of $10,000 toward costs and services, and that less than 1% of their clients ever saw a return higher than what they invested with Davison.

In addition, they were told to stop promoting themselves as being linked to major retailers. However, if you look at their current website it seems fairly obvious that they are walking a fine line in adhering to this court order.

Their landing page is covered in logos from major retailers, with information offering that inventions processed through Davison are sold at all of these stores. While there is no official statement saying they have a relationship with these companies, the implication is still there.

Finally, the lawsuit ordered that Davison refrain from acting as though their services are selective, since they were found to take anyone’s idea through the research and development process as long as they paid the fees. This is a bad sign for those looking to process an invention, because it means that you can’t trust Davison’s evaluation of your invention’s potential.  If they are simply willing to take everyone’s money who comes to them, it’s easy to see how 99+% of their customers never saw a profit from their dealings with Davison.

  • Today is August 3rd 2022 and I had a phone conference with David's inventions and put $25 down on my invention and signed a contract. I know $25 is not a lot compared to what I've read they told me right at a thousand is what the total had to be paid before they patented my idea and put it in stores in online shopping I've been having phone interviews for the last we could have two weeks matter of fact I have another phone interview Friday this Friday at 6:30 p.m. I have all documentations of text messages voicemails and emails so I guess they're still trying to scan people after they were already sued that is so sad I would have never found out if I did not send the information to my daughter so excited that her baby clips were going to be in stores and she brought the breaking news upon me that it was a scam thank God I didn't invest any more money into it his sad how people can take advantage of other people Dreams for what a lil money this is not about the money to me this is about an invention my daughter had when she was 9 years old I just don't want someone to steal it that's not fair to her.
  • WOW, this is absolutely disgusting i've spent a lot with this so called "company" to have been given the run around. Any info on a lawsuit would be GREATLY appreciated my email is [email protected]. Thanks

  • I used to work here. If you people only knew how little anyone cared about your idea. It's only a number in a money generating quota. From sales to design to prototype. Its all corner cutting push through. Ive since moved on to a real Company that developes products and am embarrassed for having davison on my resume.
    • what company did you move too? referral, referral :)
    • Mr. Woo,

Would you be willing to testify in court or to the FTC or other agency on the actions of Davison?

Do you have contact information on others who worked for Davison and quit due to the company’s actions?

    • What company are you with now if you don’t mind me asking? I’m interested in submitting my idea.
    • May I ask what company you now work for? I have a friend whose idea is somewhat clever and has a good name along with her product and she is trying to come up with the $700 the guy quoted her on the phone to get her invention to the next step. I would like to help her out so she isn't getting scammed by this pathetic sounding company Davison!

      thanks
    • Hello Jimmy,

I was about to fall into Davison’s sales pitch until I began reading the reviews. You mention that you found a new company to develop your product, can you tell me if it worked for you. I am also looking for an honest company.

      Thank you, Alfred
  • How do you get your money back???
  • Wow thanks guys I was set to send them money tomorrow…. I’m not now though. These guys are crazy !!! [email protected] I’d love to tell my story as well
  • Wow, we just sent Davisons, Scott Morris 400 dollars. He's telling us we are missing appts. Only an answering machine on their end. Great. Count us in on the lawsuit.
    • I paid them $10,000 for my idea August of this year, when I call Deborah Watson, the project manager my call goes to her fax. I've texted her and no response. So I am all for the class action law suit. Eddie Ellis, email [email protected]
  • Over a period of two years I paid a total of $10,000 for my Mobile Urine Bag Holder invention I sent a prototype as well as drawings and was assured it would be further developed to my description. Davison asked for further money $2,000 for an advertising video plus extra for postage of the completed prototype. On receipt of the prototype it was a cruder heavier copy of my original with a crucial missing component making the device useless. Alarm bells now ringing! As you will gather numerous emails sent as I was passed from one to another with no satisfaction. My latest email still waiting for a reply to date. Having worked in the British Criminal Justice System I am embarrassed to be so vulnerable and taken in. At first staff were friendly and helpful but on challenged became hostile. It is obvious my money is lost and I wonder how this company is still able to carry remaining in business. I intend to approach the GB/US embassy to complain and seek further advice.
    • I paid $10,077 for an invention called the poop off gloves, in 2019 it was paid for. I was told I need to pay $10,000 and my invention will be out there. After I wouldn't give him any more money the Davidson company didn't want anything to do with me cuz I'm not putting out money again.

I feel like Davison is a scam to get peoples' money not to put an invention out there for you, so sad but they will fall...
  • Back in 2012 I submitted a prototype, pictures and diagrams to Davidson. They initially told me I would not need to pay them up front if I did the packaging and prototype. Then they wanted an additional 8,000.00 after I shipped them the prototype. I requested the prototype back in 2016. No response to emails or phone calls. I just want my product back that we designed and built. I was lucky and felt they weren’t being honest and did not give them any money as we had done most of the work already.
  • Hello!

So after almost falling for this scam I thankfully did a lot of research. After this I decided I wasn’t going to work with the company anymore.

The employee I spoke with - Daniel - who sounded like a typical car salesman.

After I decided not to go with their company - he had some smart words to say. This shows those true colors and show they are just a bunch of criminals. I saved his text messages too but this site will not allow me to save them so I’ll just add what was said below after I received the call this morning.

Daniel- If I don't hear back from you this will be another time you were a NO CALL NO SHOW. Your file will be closing today.

    Me- You can close.

Daniel- Good. I knew you weren't going to do it anyway.

Me- I did a lot of research. Y’all’s company is a scam. Snake oil at its finest.

Daniel- Obviously you are terrible at research.

Me- (Took a snap shot of the conversation) - “I’ll add this to the bad research.”

After this Daniel went on to try telling me about all the big companies thy work with - all lies.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
    • They got me for $15,000 and claim they will be getting it incorporated in 3 to 5 weeks...So have I been scammed?
