SurveySpot is an online market research company that offers participants cash and sweepstake entry rewards for completing opinion surveys. Currently, the opportunity is available to folks eighteen and over living in the US, Canada, or the UK.

How Does SurveySpot Work?

SurveySpot pays out between $2 to $10 per completed survey, and since 2001 they’ve reported paying out over twelve million dollars in cash and prizes to their members. The panel itself is relatively simple to use, and once you create your account you will begin to receive surveys by email.

The good thing about SurveySpot is that the emails they send out include critical information about each survey. For instance they will let you know the subject matter, estimated time of completion, and the reward format.

That last aspect is very important, since SurveySpot pays out in cash and in Instant Win Game tokens. This allows members that only want to do for cash surveys to skip prize paying studies. However, sometimes it’s worth completing a non-cash survey because there’s a chance for a follow up cash offer.

One thing that SurveySpot members appreciate is that in most cases when they don’t qualify for a survey they still get a sweepstakes entry or Instant Win Game token simply for trying. This is a nice touch since this happens to almost everyone at least once.

SurveySpot pays out its members via check but you can only request one if you have at least $5 in your account. There are some time delays and it can take up to six weeks for a cash reward payment to be deposited into your SurveySpot account and another 2 to 4 weeks for your check to arrive.

Rewards:

Members will be rewarded with points for each survey that you complete. These can then be redeemed for the following:

PayPal – simply cash out and convert your points to a cash payment

Amazon – receive an amazon gift card which you can use to shop online.

iTunes – Redeem points for itunes giftcards and purchase anything the online store has to offer.

Airline Miles – Get miles from SurveySpot’s partner airlines.

  • SurveySpot SCAM ... Cashed out five whole dollars the first month, on May 5th, after many, many screen-outs.

Since then, every one of 7 more were screened out. AFTER completion, none scored -- for me.

No one can convince me that they don't get paid for these and the ones so many others say they too have completed. There can be no legitimate reason they would ask the qualifying questions last, and THEN decide all that time and information was of no value.

One potential problem might be that people exert less effort, expecting to have wasted more time.

It makes survey reports in general, less credible.

SS is likely to not be providing valid reporting. I'm done, and putting their faux invites into spam, should bypass the inability to unsubscribe.

(I might have accidentally submitted some of this before.)
  • Don't waste your time with SurveySpot. Like others have said, you spend a lot of time answering "qualification" questions, before finally being rejected for the survey. Those questions usually include more than just basic info about you, and it's easy to think you are answering actual survey questions. You can spend 20+ minutes answering these questions before being rejected. And you get nothing for your time but a sweepstake entry. Then, when you do finally earn a few points, they find a way to avoid paying you. They first accused me of taking surveys too quickly. Because clicking a circle then a Next button is supposed to take a long time? When I pushed back, then they said that I wasn't answering questions inconsistently. I pushed back again because I know I was. Then they complained that my household had too many accounts. I explained that I lived by myself, so that wasn't possible. So they then accused me of having multiple accounts, which also is untrue. So four different accusations to avoid paying me, none of which was true. When I asked for proof, they just closed my account and refused to answer me. Real professional.
  • I hate when I am close to completion of a survey, and then it says either that I didn't qualify, or they have enough respondents, when clearly I was not being screened, but in the middle of completing the actual survey. Once I have enough points to redeem, I will remove discontinue being a member.
  • Survey Spot is not a scam. It does pay out like it claims to from the parent company SSI (Survey Sampling International). SSI has a better website that pays more per survey (opinionoutpost.com). Survey Spot, however, does not hardly pay out. I saw a review stating it pays between $2.00 and $10.00 per survey. That information is absolutely incorrect. In fact, survey spot pays typically 50 pts (.50 cents) for a 30 minute survey, where as opinionoutpost will pay up to $2.50 for the same 30 minute survey. Survey Spot is a waste of time and even though legitimate, it is more of a favor to them to take surveys then it is for the survey taker looking for extra income.
  • This is one of the worst survey companies there is. You can't even unsubscribe.
  • Even though it took me more than a week to collect almost 1200 points, it legitimately paid me for these amount of points. Still, if you do not have a lot of patience and spare time, this is not the right website for you. So far, I am pretty satisfied with SurveySpot, it was less than $15 what I got, but it was the first time I was doing this and, hey it is easy money, you can make some money right in your pajamas!
  • This is the worst survey that I have been involved with. You can not claim your prize.it won't let you claim any prizes.it keeps telling you your phone number is not good.I think you are a big rip off. And I hope you loose all clients.....
  • Compared to Opinion Outpost for the same surveys and the amount of time it takes to do them, they give you a penny(.01)a point and Opinion Outpost gives you then cents(.10) a point. I have been with both of these companies for the past 10 years. Go with Opinion Outpost for a lot more money $$$$$.
  • I hardly ever qualify for a survey on this site. I just spent over 10 minutes on what was supposed to be a 10 minute survey. It was about online taxes. After answering ALL of the questions in regards to how I did my taxes last year, and how I will be doing them them this year. I was told I did not qualify. To make matters worse try as I might I could not contact them. The one place where I thought I could explain what happened and give them the chance to make things right, well the page would not move for me to fill it out. I take a lot of surveys with send earnings, opinion outpost, and quick rewards to name a few. They are ALL very good sites, and are totally legit. I can contact anyone of those sites, and they are always very helpful, unlike Survey Spot. I am completely DONE wasting my time with survey spot.
  • where can you find out how to contact them? I just spent 30 minutes on 2 surveys and reached an error each time. I have had pretty good luck with this site so far. You do get frustrated when you answer tons of questions with no benefit
