MySurvey.com

MySurvey.com is the online home of MySurvey, a company that says they want to provide people with a simple and easy way to earn rewards from the comfort of their own home.

MySurvey is a part of the online market research industry, which is one of the oldest and most popular ways to earn money online as it doesn’t really require much time or effort. Participants are simply asked to answer questions about their daily lives, habits, and opinions.

To sign up as a MySurvey.com member, all you have to do is go to their website and fill out their required registration form. Their website says that membership always has been and always will be free.

How It Works

Whenever a new survey or other market research opportunity becomes available that you qualify for, this company will email you. In addition to surveys, this company says that members may be asked to complete product tests or provide product diaries.

None of the activities that are offered to their members should take significant amounts of time or effort, and each activity will be accompanied by an amount of points that you will be awarded once you have completed that task.

This website says that after their members accumulate a certain amount of points, they will be able to redeem for items in the Rewards Catalog. These include e-certificates, gift cards, and vouchers to retailers like Amazon.com.

Are They Legit?

The most important features to look for in an ethical online market research company is that they do not charge their members any fees to join or receive surveys and that they provide their members with a low enough payout minimum that they are actually able to get compensation for their efforts.

MySurvey.com does not charge members any membership fees, but unfortunately they do not appear to provide publicly published information regarding their minimum cash our requirements. This may be because the requirements change over time or simply because customers will simply save their points until they are ready to redeem them for the item they want.

There are some other issues with this company however. Even though they have been around for many years, their customers regularly complain that this company has issues with their IT. Many customers complained that they were in the middle of the survey when it froze or they were otherwise unable to complete it, or that parts of questions or answers in the survey were just missing.

When you have these kinds of issues with a survey, it generally means that you will no longer be able to get credit for taking that survey, which is obviously very frustrating and makes it difficult to earn the points you need to actually receive your compensation for your work.

However, since it is a free service, customers are welcome to sign up for this website and see for themselves whether they have any problems or issues.

  • I've been a member of My Survey for about 8 years, but a few years ago, the so-called customer service rep, "Carol Adams" stopped answering my emails regarding legitimate complaints about surveys that weren't submitting successfully after completion and points not being assigned after screen-outs or partial completions and late payments. They also increased the number of points required to cash out for the same value of reward, which most survey companies have also done. They also started taking longer and longer to pay out. It used to be a couple of days, but now it's a week to 10 days. I screen out of more surveys than ever (my demographic may have something to do with that), but don't get any points for trying, which I used to get, and which the better survey companies, like My View, do. Well, yesterday (03/18/16) was the final straw, but has not yet been resolved, so I have not yet decided whether or not to report Lightspeed, LLC (the owner of My Survey) to the FTC for fraud. I had received a packet in the mail from them with very detailed and complex instructions for filling out a worksheet containing a lot of details about every device in my home that uses or could use batteries. This alone took about 30 minutes. Then, I had to go the web site and transcribe this information into the online survey which took at least another 20-25 minutes. Then, when I was done, I submitted the survey and got an error message. I was incensed. This survey is worth 600 points--more than I need to redeem for a $10 PayPal cash reward (on top of the 871 points I had already accumulated). The next day, I went to my dashboard where the same survey was now sitting and attempted to re-enter it so I could re-submit it, but got another error message! So, I sent two emails to "Carol Adams" (to two different email addresses), but got non-delivery notices from both. So, then I searched the web site for a valid email address or phone number to contact, but there was none, just a mailing address. So, then, I searched for the company "Lightspeed, LLC" and found their address in Warren, NJ and a valid phone number, which I called and got a receptionist who answers calls for three companies in the same building. She said the only way for me to contact them (other than by mail) was to dictate an email to her which she would then relay to them, along with my email address. She seemed sincere and legitimate and caught in the middle. She read back to me the gist of what I'd told her, so she will probably follow through, but even if she does, there's no guarantee that I will hear back from Lightspeed or get my 600 points. I also threatened to report them to the FTC for fraud if I did not, and said that it was no empty threat, that I had reported other fraudulent survey companies to them. We'll see what happens from here.
  • I just got a canned response saying they will audit the survey I complained about over a month ago. Now it might take another 4-6 weeks. What a waste of time. This is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever experienced.
  • MySurvey is a complete and utter scam. Forget anyone who tells you differently. I am pursuing them through the Office of Fair Trading hoping that others do the same and they get shut down. You will get lots of surveys that will claim you have already completed them - but ONLY once you have spent ages doing them (so no credits for you).

More importantly, you will NOT get points redeemed. Mine were redeemed last 23 November 2015. Today is 16 February 2016. NOTHING.

Try this. Find out their email address or phone number. You won't. They hide it. Why would a LEGIT operation do this??? Answer? They are a scam, pure and simple. I will give you a hint... search for LightSpeed GMI instead.

I found their email, their phone number and they still won't respond. So, spend your time doing something else rather than wasting on this lot. With any luck they will be gone before you waste too much time on them.
  • I see a lot of people are having the same problem with Mysurvey as I am. And they are cowering to threats of being jailed or fined. Well they got the right one now. I'm waiting for such email to appear in my inbox. I've written complaining about the very same problem and YES, after doing a survey I expect to be paid for it. I don't care if you it mysteriously disappears from the list of completed surveys or never shows up. I take a screen shots and send them the proof that these surveys were there, so they can't say that they weren't. Please Please threaten me and I will hit you back as I did another survey company who thought they weren't going to pay me or honor surveys I'd completed. By the time I got done with them they had no advertising sponsors or survey sponsors and went belly up. I said down and wrote each of their sponsors and email letting them know that I wasn't being paid and they were blaming that on them, by saying they hadn't paid them. I CC ea email to this survey company so they knew I meant business. Within less than en hour I got my payment to Paypal which I'd been waiting for for several months. Sometimes you just have to call their bluff. So when they threaten you people, if you know you've done nothing wrong, tell them please do report me, I'd welcome getting the FCC (or whom ever they threaten you with) involved. If they threaten you with legal action give them the contact info to you "lawyers". See how quickly they back down! If they aren't going to honor pay as they promised they shouldn't be in business. It's plan fraud and scam... the very thing they are threatening others of.
  • Tried to log in today and was told my account had been deactivated without any contact from them informing me as to when or why they would do that. I've lost 24,000 point which is equal to about $220
  • I have been a My Survey member for several years. I can confirm that I have redeemed points with My Survey for cash, over $100.00 and gift certificates probably over $200.00 for Amazon, Target, and restaurants. Always looking for a way to make a little extra, I highly recomend this company.
  • If you are patient with them, you can stay. If you don't want to waste time, then don't consider taking their surveys. This week, I've been receiving technical errors after I hit the last button that will give me the points for that survey. So far, I've sent them three e-mails telling them about points I haven't received. I only received the response "Unfortunately, due to the errors that you are receiving, you will not be able to complete the survey." Wait what? The surveys were already completed. The last button that I clicked was so I could collect the points. The site has my responses but never rewarded me for my input. I should've considered the previous comments here: poor customer service, scam, and unethical.
  • Joined up a year ago, and am finally fed up and done with this site. I've gone 1/3 of the way through at least 40 surveys where I've answered questions they WILL collect and use as stats (e.g. would you travel interstate for xyz? which of these activities would you do?), only to then "not qualify" for the survey. What BS.
  • My account was deactivated about a month ago -- since I forgot I can't use my iPad to log in and complete surveys -- and although I've emailed customer service 3 times, I've gotten no replies and my account has not been reactivated! It's a good thing I cashed out most of my points on my last login because I think after 7 years I'm done with MySurvey!!
  • I literally just left this site only 3 minutes ago. After not receiving points after the 4th or 5th survey I took, I decided to leave the site. I thought it was strange that when you sign up they didn't really give me any real information other than the point system. I signed up about 3 days ago, and did a total of 4 or 5 surveys and literally received nothing for them. I believe you get I think 50 points for each survey? the last survey I took before I decided to call it quits was 150 points. which would have at least been 155 points by now if carol would have actually paid me. It was just ridiculous honestly.
