Opinion Outpost is a get paid to take surveys company, serving adult residents of the United States and Canada. This company has been around now for many years and has gone through recent updates to its website and user interface.

The result is a more modern and sleek design and better overall experience for their members. Overall this company allows its members to earn rewards for participating on online surveys.

As with most survey offers this should not be looked at as a solid income stream but simply a way to participate in market research when you have some spare time on your hands.

How Does Opinion Outpost Work?

Once you signup you will have to confirm your email address and then fill out a short bio section for your profile. This will include your education background, address, birthday and occupation. The company uses this information to pair you with the best survey opportunities.

The surveys that you receive will range in topics but can cover everything from appliances to medicine and sports. The more studies you participate in the more you can earn. Most surveys take around ten minutes to complete.

The reason that most folks don’t receive as many survey opportunities as they’d like is because they haven’t fully filled out their profile or taken these intro surveys.

Each survey that gets emailed to you will have some quick preliminary questions to answer to see if you qualify for the survey. These surveys do have a limit on how many participants they need so for a higher chance of acceptance try to respond to the emails as soon as you get them.

The most important thing to remember with Opinion Outpost is to stay active. If you don’t attempt to qualify for a survey at least once every 3 months they will remove you as an active member and clear your account of any earned points.

Rewards:

For every successful survey that you complete you will earn points. These points can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards.

These include: Cash out via Paypal, Amazon gift cards, itunes gift cards, and more. You also earn entries into their $10,000 quarterly prize draw each time you take a survey.

Customer Service:

If you have any questions about surveys or your account you can reach a support representative at 1-877-254-1234 or submit an online inquiry.

Online Reviews/Complaints:

As with most survey companies complaints mainly fall into the category of people not getting enough surveys or not qualifying for surveys after taking the preliminary questions.

It’s important to have appropriate expectations for online surveys to ensure you will not be disappointed. Often times the companies sponsoring these research studies are looking for very specific participants and unfortunately many people won’t qualify after taking the preliminary questions.

There’s not much you can do about that except try again to find a study that you would fit into. People have reported being paid by Opinion Outpost so it’s just a matter of being patient and taking advantage of the surveys that you do qualify for.

Competitors and Alternatives:

Opinion Outpost is owned by a larger company that has several survey sites including SurveySpot. Feel free to check out our complete list of survey companies.

  • This was awful and a complete waste of time, never recommending this to anyone. No one ever receives surveys, you barely qualify for any. I recently unsubscribed, I've made an account about 2 years ago and never made ANY money.
  • Get a few surveys that decline you but you can earn points pretty fast. The downfall to the site is redeeming your points. If you redeem your points for amazon gift cards, you have to wait a few days before you get the email with the card inside.
  • I spent nearly a week in the hospital and didn't sign on to outpost for nearly a month when I did I received a notice that my account has been frozen due to improper use???? I've been a member for nearly 6 years and got booted with no reason. It was my favorite survey site.
  • TERRIBLE!! I was a member for over a year, everything went smoothly. I cashed out quite a lot! I didn't lie on surveys, didn't rush through, and only had one account. However, I went to sign in for the second time one day and was told that I couldn't sign in because my account was frozen. I contacted customer service and had no reply. Terrible company, awful customer service. Hate this site!! There was no warning whatsoever, just suddenly an unusable account for nothing. :/ Their rules state that more than 1 member of a household can be signed up at the site. Well, a friend that I live with is also registered (and has been for over a year, as well) and our accounts were frozen within a week of each other. Either they need to revise their rules or they hate their users and think it's fun to freeze their accounts. Even if customer service replies (which doesn't seem likely at this point), I'm never going back. There are better sites out there - check out SurveyPolice to find some...
  • I've made like 30 bucks in the last 4 days with them. It's not a bad way to make some extra cash. The money is usually deposited into my paypal withing 24-48 hours then from there I can depsoit to my bank account. It's my top survey site as of now. There helpful and always willing to answer any questions I have . Totally legit.
  • I am at a loss how anyone can call it a scam. I've been a member for about six months and have cashed out at least twenty dollars per month. Also, I have never had to wait more than a day to get paid.
  • Opinion Outpost used to be a good company until they were acquired by Survey Sampling International (SSI). SSI has an F rating with the BBB. SSI owns many survey brands and they all have one thing in common. Sooner or later they will freeze your account and steal the money you earned. They got paid for all those surveys by the way. SSI is headquartered in CT which cares little about corporate thieves in their state. If SSI was headquartered in CA for instance they would be out of business for fraud.
  • They are an absolute scam. They let you rack up points, then your account mysteriously gets "purged" and there's allegedly nothing they can do, but they'll be happy to direct you to their sign up page to be scammed again. Avoid like the plague.
  • Way too often you are told you "failed to qualify" despite already answering a few questions which means they still get data they can use but you get nothing. Complete waste of time.
  • I loved doing the surveys and I did make some money off doing them. However, same as some of the reviews, halfway through the survey they would say didn't qualify, then they froze my account and deactivated me. I asked why and they would not give me a definate answer. Very disappointed. :-(
